BK - I hope you had a wonderful matinee, and even though you do have meetings and such over the next couple of days, enjoy your "rest".

In fact I’m about to write my Cousin Jane who lives in England.

If she's a Lady and her last name is Grey....hurry.   ;D

OH!!!

DR Jane - After a call to See's, I found out that they indeed do make the California Brittle in a "Dark" variation now.  It's piece #75.  Alas, it's not shown on their online catalog listing, but it is in their catalog - which I also placed an order for - well, I had to update my address.

;)

I wonder if I tried it and put it out of my mind or it is new and I didn't notice.

HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU EAT MORE CANDY! ;D  I must know everything you ordered so I can eat vicariously. :D

DokotaCelt chocolate is definitely a food group.

Do you normally do genealogy research?  Thanks to Keith’s research I have new family members I email with.  In fact I’m about to write my Cousin Jane who lives in England.

Yes. I have been working on my Dad's side for awhile... My dad's side is quite the challenged they are very intermarried. They are all Reichsduetsch (From the homeland). Germans from Russia are another large group of Germans in ND.  My IRish line I will never be able to trace. My ancestor in that case came west on the Orphan Trains. I have  bit more success with my Scots-IRish ancestors.

I find it interesting researching it.

Major discussion on the Connotator today about Bruce's column. The debate is who was there from days. WE heartily agree with Bruce's assessment of Matt. He is a superb actor.

Our suspicions of who was there from Days would be Melissa Reeves, James Reynolds, and possibly Billy Warlock...

JMK we are both descended from a Lord which would make us Lady Jane’s, thankfully not Lady Jane Grey.

There are so many good movies out right now.  Today we opted for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.

The earliest official records we have on my 3x-great grandfather is hsi Civil War REcords and he entered the war illegally at the age of 16. He was a drummer boy for the 12th Wisconsin. WE do not know if he was born in the United States or Ireland. His name was Edward Galegher. We cannot find much on him.

Keith did a quick search for a friend of ours and traced him to the Mayflower.  His wife complained Keith was ignoring her so he also traced her family…..back to the Mayflower and discovered our friends are related.  They each have a daughter from a previous marriage and the girls were delighted.

I just finished watching The Cheap Detective with Fernando Lama(s).  Believe it or not, it was a Portuguese assignment (I'm taking lessons), because my teacher found it on DVD with Portuguese subtitles and thought it would be instructive to read along as I listened in English.  Some of the very American Simon humor does not translate to Portuguese, that's what I learned.  :)

I'm afraid Nilla's strange feline tooth disease may be back and the bad part is it's one of his front fangs (do you call them fangs on a house cat?)

I still call them fangs on my ex-wife.

Hello Keith and Jane!!!

The info i have on Edward Galegher is that he was born 2 Feb 1850 in NYC (we think) and died in 1931 in North Dakota.

HE was a private and marched with Sherman in the March through Georgia.

He was sent to Wisconsin in 1859.  He was injured in the war and was also ill.

He health problems after that....

I hvae used census, death records, plat/land, homesteading, probate and have a very strange letter and I think it may be missing a page or two

I did some checking on the news you gave us about Dr. Who, DR DakotaCelt.  The Doctor is indeed coming to America.

I've been a fan of the series off and on since discovering the Third Doctor on PBS.  Der Brucer and I saw Sixth Doctor Colin Baker in a mystery play during one of our trips to London, the title of which escapes me just now.

Of course, since the first series of the new production is also scheduled to be released on area 1 DVD sometime soon, it could be a race whether it plays first on Sci-Fi or a television near you!

Vixdad, bing raised in England, has been  Dr Who fan his whole life.  We have seen the first few shows of the new Dr Who series courtesy of a friend and we enjoyed in greatly.

Since the local PBS stations haven't shown it in a number of years this was the first time the Vixter had the pleasure of meeting the Dr and she was enthralled.

About 15 years ago Vixdad and I met Sylvester McCoy. ( I forget which Dr he was)  He was very funny and a real gentleman.
