I had an irregular heart beat...

A consequence of appearing for the prosecution?

Your comments actually have encouraged me to go see Chris Dodd tonight.

One of our more thoughtful Senators.

BK, Kim sends her love! She went on and on about your generosity to her and was quite adorable.  She looked fantastic and her fiance Brett is a sweetheart.  The party was on Fifth Avenue and 72nd and i thought it was on Park Avenue! Anyway, I got there, saw Kim's sister, her father and  his new wife, and a lot of friends.  Bill Burden, who played Candide opposite Kim's Old Lady at La scala this year was there with his beautiful wife Carol, who had played Dorie in the production of GREENWILLOW I worked on for the Utah Festival Opera.

I spent time as well with the director of THE SLOW DRAG, which Kim did in London, and her husband. They had flown over for the wedding, which takes place in Manhattan on Wednesday, not in Chattanooga, and it was this director who introduced Brett and Kim.  I also visited with Jan Horvath, understudy to Judy Kaye and Sarah Brightman on POTO, Jeanne Lehman and her husband Larry, Kevin Farrell, who conducted the KING & I tour with Hayley Mills, and his wife Carin.

The 14th floor was absolutely magnificent, a beautiful apartment with a fantastic balcony filled with animal sculptures and greenery.  Just as I was leaving, cabaret bon vivant Steve Ross showed up.  He always makes me laugh.

DR Jose, Anna Christy is gorgeous and a wonderful coloratura soprano from California.

Jan Horvath's husband is the most wonderful artist.  His color choices are beautiful.  Here's their site: http://RinoCards.com/

Better go, I really need to wash my hair if I'm going out in public. I seem to end up in the background on the news every time I go to one of these events.  Today I look like I'm a wreck. I've spent most of the day trying to figure out something in the immigration world that I'm just not quite getting. Of course I've had two totally contradictory sets of advice from different immigration lawyers, so I'm going with my gut.

A note on the IOWA race:

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
CLINTON, Iowa — With the governor of a key battleground state in tow, Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton raced through the final weekend before Iowa’s high-stakes leadoff precinct caucuses urging activists to look past the primaries and back her because she can win in November.

Note, however, REAL CLEAR POLITICS
show national polls indicate just the opposite:

Clinton loses to Mc Cain (beats the other Rs)
Obama ties Mc Cain - (beats the other Rs)
Edwards beats all the Rs

AP Photo Ops like this DO NOT HELP

Hillary Clinton speaks during a campaign event at North Scott Junior High School in Eldridge, Iowa, Saturday. (AP Photo)

Grrrr. The stupid printer will only print one copy at a time. And it takes about five minutes to load each copy to the printer.  Grrrr.

I am neither in favor of, or opposed to Hilary Clinton.  However, it seems rather ridiculous for any candidate to start gloating about who they would beat if the election were held today.  The point is that the election is not being held today, next week or next month.

There are a lot of ups and down, glories and  goofs, etc., between now and November.

I guess we might not see DR KAYEKID around these parts in the near future.

I have been trying to catch up with the last few days worth of posts that I missed (My, I was surpisingly lucid Wednesday evening).  I have now caught up through the end of Page One yesterday.  I appreciated the article on the 25 preserved films, but I must join with M Barnum in his outrage that Molly Bee's CHARTROOSE CABOOSE was not included in the list.

Do you suppose she's tried Cover Girl on it?  ;D

The Christmas Box of Molly and Austin was at their Seattle Post Office on December 11 - but NO ONE put a card in their box telling them they had a large package waiting.

And the word of the day is: ALGOPHOBIA!
ALGOPHOBIA: A painful reaction caused by watching a Nobel Prize winner and former vice president predicting the end of the world.

Now I KNOW that all HHW'ers were good as gold angels in houses of worship across the country when they were tykes - BUT was there one subject or sermon that caused stifled laughs....was there something the speaker said that made you bite your tongue to keep from laughing OUT LOUD IN CHURCH????

For my brothers and me it was:

Balaam's ass.

DR Jrand, glad to know that the box did arrive...even if notification of such didn't!

And TCB, you will be pleased to know that I will be meeting Miss Molly Bee during my February visit to Burbank.

This is very strange!  Both the NBC local affiliate and the CBS affiliate are showing the live NFL game between New England and NY.  I thought this game was only going to be shown on the NFL network.  Instead, it seems to be on almost all of the networks!

CHURCH?  You want to ask about church?

One time, an older woman sat in the pew directly in front of me, and she was wearing some sort of neck wrap made from the body of a weasel or some other long and skinny animal.  It wasn't just the body of the animal - the wrap was made from the entire body, including the paws and head!  All through the service, the glass eyes of the poor creature looked at me as imploringly as any glass eyes of any poor creature ever could.  My parents couldn't figure out why I didn't want to go to church the next week.

The last minister used to say "post-modern" several times in every sermon. My son and I would play the drinking game with our sodas in the soundbooth.
