Tomovoz, I love the beard! Do you grow it longer in the winter and shorten it in the warmer months like Vixdad does with his?

TPunk, sorry to hear about your migraine.  While I believe TCB's suggestion has merit and bears trying, I have also heard that flowers and new shoes delivered by one's roomate can be very helpful in alleviating the ailment!

MBarnum- Is that the MRS WIGGS with WC Fields? Been dying to see that. Will trade you something good for a copy of that. Is it commerically available?

Rodzinski, if I can transfer it to DVDr I will send you a copy.

I am watching the Britney Spears interview from Dateline on youtube.  I know, I know, why pay her any attention.  I wanted to see what all the fuss is about.  She seems like a simple girl and just not very bright.  Why else would you protest that you don't care what anyone thinks on an interview you say you are doing "to set the record straight" and why would you do said interview while chomping on gum with your boobs hanging out?  Oh well, I asked for it... I should have just stayed away but it's kind of like rubber necking at a car accident.

RE; SHOW MUSIC;

I Still have every issue of Show Music volume 1 number 1 when it was just a newsletter to a (I think) photocopied booklet to the glossy magazine it became.

It was the one piece of mail I always looked forward to.

COLD CASE was a repeat, of course, but it also happened to be one I had seen. Darn! I miss almost all of the first half of the season due to sports runovers, and now when that doesn't happen, they show episodes from the second half of the season that I've seen.

I continued with DE-LOVELY which annoys me this time through just like it did the last time with songs SO out of order. I'll probably finish it, however, and then not watch it again for a long, long time.

I agree about DR DakotaCelt's picture. I much prefer seeing pics of the folks we become friends with, and that would be a fine avatar picture.

DEADWOOD is SUCH an interesting series, and I enjoyed tonight's episode so much. All the characters are fascinating, and one never knows where the story is going.

Just watched an interesting documentary about Haskell Wexler made by his son. At first I thought it a little pretentious, but it ended up being quite moving, with an interview with Jane Fonda proving quite powerful. I need to see it again from the beginning. I think the title is TELL THEM WHAT YOU DO.

Bobby Vee is originally from St. Cloud, MN...

Dick Clark's wife is from Fargo...

No idea on the singer...
Must be a perpetutated myth, for 50 years, that Robert Velline was born in Fargo on April 30, 1943.

It was followed by a short film written by Isabella Rossellini about her father. Directed by Canadian wunderkind Guy Maddin. If you hate overly stylized things, you would hate Guy Maddin films, they are extremely artistic, designed to look like early silent and German expressionistic movies. I find he has a great sense of humor though.

Anyways, the film was Isabella in many guises discussing her father. She plays David O. Selznick, Fellini, Hitchcock, Chaplin, her mother, and herself. It sounds bad, but it is only 15 minutes or so and rather sweet. The title of it is MY DAD IS 100 YEARS OLD.

Wow, if not even Virgin stores can survive (Vixmom said one had closed out by her), record stores will really be extinct in a couple years. When I think of the major chains, to say nothing of the mom and pop shops that have disappeared just in the last 5 years or so, it is a lesson in how quickly the tide can turn.

Used to be an HMV in every sector of the city.
There are still a couple Towers and a couple Virgins, but no other music chain survives.
And there's no cool large independent retailer like Amoeba out here.

I know it is great to be able to get anything over the internet, but I do enjoy the idea of actually searching through a store for music. Maybe I'll be extinct soon too!
