Glad you are liking the music from Mrs Henderson Jack.. Will Young is what entertainment is all about! A worthy winner of a format copied throughout the world with such commercial crass. He is a delight.

Are his songs included on the soundtrack?  It's hard to tell at Amazon.  I just see a song list.

JRand - There's a show whihc is actually called "[title of show]" - it's about a team of writers' experiences creating a show especially to submit for a festival.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....okay.  Thanx  8)

Much loved UK entertainer Cilla Black credits Frankie Howerd for teaching her all about "audience" and "timing".

Did anyone else used to think that Cathy enjoyed a minuet, the Valley Roos, and crepe suzette?

I'm getting senile too. I forget, did I mention I'm seeing [title of show] tomorrow evening? My friend lives across the hall from the creators and he has heard the show through the walls in rehearsal and through revisions. It's closing on Sunday. No word yet, at least that I've heard, on whether it will move. I hope it doesn't move to Broadway because from what I hear it's just not a "Broadway" show. I know it's hard to make money off-Broadway but some shows don't belong on Broadway. There are lots of nice stages available. If it moves I hope it goes someplace small. The Vineyard size is good. It's closing because the Vineyard's next show has to go in and they can't extend anymore. It's why Grey Gardens is closing also. Playwrights has to open the next show, The Busy World is Hushed, with Miss Christine Lahti. Anyway, I babble. I will stop babbling.

BTW, FJL, I agree. I don't think racism was the cause of the Color Purple shutout at DD, although as I mentioned, I do think that La Chanze should have been noticed for her work.

I was about to write that it is the support from FRIENDS on this here site (and their off site support too) that is so wonderful.

It is also gems like those presented by FJL

JRand - Nice photo.  I haven't gone back to look at a photo over and over this much since DR Pogue posted about his Shakespeare experiences the other day.

I might as well admit it, I really thought they were singing "grape suzette" when I first heard the song.

Hi all!

Wow, I was very impressed by the new number of posts we had yesterday!  I'm sorry I was not party to them.

I have many special memories of HHW.  My first "live" meeting with a DR--which was Elmore.  And then the March Meeting when a group of us met for BK's book reading and to see DR Pennyo's show.  Then how can I forget the Walking Tour and the Girls Night Out With The Guys? What can I say about the very dear friends I have made here?  The phone calls, the cards, the letters, the flowers and such an outpouring of friendship that enriched my life more then I can express?

But I guess one of the major memories I have is finding a place on the internet where the major theme wasn't to fight with everyone else on the  board.  What a joy to talk with people from all over the world that are different ages and more important, to see everyone here get along.

Dakota - I'm from Brooklyn - first ten years in Flatbush, then moved to Luna Park.  Moved to Manhattan in 1986.

Cool, I know a gal on another board that is from Brooklyn. Interesting..
