Any time a big truck rumbles down my little street it sets off my car alarm.  I think I'm going to have to have them adjust the sensitivity setting, which I gather is easy to do.

I've done errands and whatnot, picked up two packages and have proofed another sixty pages.  Finding the usual extra words, a couple of way too long sentences, and some too-oft repeated words - the worst offenders are "meanwhile" "really" and "nice."

DR MBARNUM - they will indeed begin my subscription to CLASSIC IMAGES with this month's issue so I can read your article, and hopefully my Scary Monsters will arrive next week.

I let "Carol" know that I wanted the issue because of your article.

Many thanks JRAnd!!!

Rescheduling is the watchword for a lot of things this week.

Well, I sure feel fortunate that my medical needs are not pressing - I have lots of appointments but all are follow-ups and I think I'm doing fine.

Three weeks after open-heart surgery and all I have to bitch about is an itchy chest where the hair is regrowing.

Do you buy the low cholesterol eggs?

I hope you were happy for the delay in your office visit.

Nope - get my eggs just as the hen laid them.

Well, the only nice thing about the office visit delay was not having to drive down the still very snowly, bumpy country roads. There are only two things they really hurt - coughing and riding over bumps in roads. I still use my cardiac pillow to help with any coughing (I must admit I look a little silly strolling into stores and restaurants carrying a foot-round blood-red pillow by the handle!)

der Brucer

Try buying the vege-fed chicken eggs & compare the cholesterol levels.  They should have less of the bad cholesterol.  You shouldn't need to buy the expensive eggs that advertise less cholesterol, any vege-fed should be at least as good.

The image of you walking around with the pillow made me laugh.  I probably look worse since my "outfit" makes me look like a bag lady.  Keith kind of straightened me out today before we went into Rite Aid so I looked somewhat better :D I'm really looking forward to the day I can pull clothes on over my head.

May I just say that I tried to watch ALIAS and found nothing of interest.  Nada.  Zip.

Well I believe I can call Jose on his crazy name experience and raise him.  I have just been trying to track down a review screener for an indy film and was put through to a PR agent.  Her name?  (I swear I am not making this up):  Ima Hore.  (Pronounced Ee-ma, luckily).  I almost did a spit take over the phone when she spelled it for me.

Manhattan School of Music is also closed today. I guell I'll have to play around the neighborhood. When my laundry is finished, I'll go out for a walk.

Here's a horrendous piece of news that should delight our former vice-president and his followers for a return to good ole family values:

And yes, my office strikes again!

In other unbelievable news which will probably delight Elmore no end (NOT):  I have just gotten the first two Blu-ray releases of a new Ring Cycle that is performed by a sort of French version of Cirque du Soleil (well, maybe they're French, too, but these are different, LOL).

Work continues.  I've proofed two hundred pages so far.  I thought at some point I'd added something to a chapter and was beginning to wonder where it was, when I began referring to it in the past tense.  So, I guess I forgot to put it in - so, now I have to decide whether to add it (it's not that important) or not - if it's the latter then I have to delete the references

ASK BK

If you were to release The Best of Guy Haines: His Greatest Hits which 12 songs from all the songs he has recorded (solo albums and rep albums) would you chose to put on it and why

I don't know the why of it, but my favorite of the Guy tracks are When You're Alone, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, I'm Glad To See You've Got What You Want, Here You Come Again, Past My Prime, Evening Star, Terminal, Marie, You Must Believe In Spring, It Doesn't Matter Anymore, What Can You Lose, and Roadside.  Those are the twelve.

My favorite Guy Haines tracks are the following:
    1. Cowboy Waltz
    2. Terminal
    3.  Gettin' Nowhere Fast
    4. I'm Past My Prime
    5. Here You Come Again
    6. Look For A Star
    7. Be A Santa
    8.  What Can You Lose?
    9.  Pitiful Penniless Bums
   10. Two Lost Souls

What happened to THEY DON'T GIVE MEDALS?

Well this RING is actually pretty incredible to watch.  Who knew?

The distributor also sent me a cool new Michel Legrand boxed set of CD's.  Even though I don't review CD's.  ;)

DR DER BRUCER - Were you given a "coughing bear" to help you with your post-op recovery?

No - a "coughing pillow" - about the same I guess.

Hmm... My mom got a Bear.  -Funny how that worked out, huh? ;)

Well, if your mother was gay, she could have had the red heart-shaped pillow, too.

Tiiiiiired.  Listening to music right now, and then will watch a Blu and Ray this evening.  Since I've only had bacon and eggs and toast I can probably eat something light later.
