Delivered the book to muse Margaret.  Then I grabbed some bacon and eggs because it turns out they're going to do this little garage re-paving today instead of tomorrow.

I've done almost nothing today. I went out earlier just to see what it's like and for a "blizzard" it's not that bad.

I decided to go to J&R downtown to see if they had Finian's Rainbow. Barnes & Noble only had the original 1947 recording (that's a good sign I guess, it must be selling). I know I can order it on line and get it quickly but I wanted to listen to it today since I'm not going out or at work so I went downtown. The wimps closed J&R. The entire complex was locked up tight. Oh, well. I'll look at B&N again in a few days.

Well, the snow seems to be subsiding after leaving about 10 inches, I'd guess.  But it's still windy.  My car looks almost as bad as it did Sunday.

Craig said he got lucky & is now parked in a covered lot.  Apparently lots have opened up, free of charge, until the streets are cleared.  This is his reward for driving to work yesterday, only to find no one else went in.  Without any work to do he returned home without earning any money.

Remember the conductor I wanted sacked? Well, I hear he's gone crazy trying to turn a concert of a historical recreation into a travesty of an Encores! production. I can only wish him a broken leg. Literally.

Did anyone catch HANGMEN ALSO DIE! on TCM the other day?  That was one of the last films Frances was announced for before her arrest.  Anna Lee ended up doing the role.  I think Frances would have done well with director Fritz Lang.

It was clear as a bell when Woody left for work at 6AM; but, by noon it was snow-storming away. (I'm glad he left the car and walked.) He just returned - fortunately a co-worker gave him a lift most of the way. The blondes are now outside cavorting in the South 40 - they love the snow!

My Dr. was not up for the snow and cancelled yesterday's appointment (The phone message said call later in the week and they'll try to reschedule.)

Time for rustle up some chow.

Think I'll go for poached eggs on rye toast - but two instead of three and margarine instead of butter.

Catching up...

I ended up watching the second half of the Superbowl in the hotel lobby in Memphis.  I don't normally follow sports, but even I could tell that it had turned into a good game.  A real good game.  And coupled with the Spirit of New Orleans, the Saints' win was really quite a boost in more ways than one.

Rescheduling is the watchword for a lot of things this week.

Well, I sure feel fortunate that my medical needs are not pressing - I have lots of appointments but all are follow-ups and I think I'm doing fine.

Three weeks after open-heart surgery and all I have to bitch about is an itchy chest where the hair is regrowing.

And in other news, the credit union called yesterday to tell me that the loan has gone through and we are more or less the owners of the new house.  We actually won't close until February 26 to mitigate owed property taxes.

In the semi-funny department, the one thing the bank financing the loan was freaked out about was the shtuff the seller is leaving in the home, notably the tanning bed.  They said they had seen many sales with big televisions left, and even some with pool tables, but never a tanning bed.  So I need to write a letter stating what I think it's all worth, which they'll factor into the loan to value ratio.  It made me laugh.

Congrats on the new house, Jeff!! ;D

Nope - get my eggs just as the hen laid them.

Well, the only nice thing about the office visit delay was not having to drive down the still very snowly, bumpy country roads. There are only two things they really hurt - coughing and riding over bumps in roads. I still use my cardiac pillow to help with any coughing (I must admit I look a little silly strolling into stores and restaurants carrying a foot-round blood-red pillow by the handle!)

Listen, after watching all five previous seasons I want to enjoy and love this final season of Lost.  I'm hoping that this setup pays off somehow, but when they introduced this new group of players (a ploy they've used several times now) I just said, "Stop."  I especially dislike the second in command, the Manson look-a-like.

SORT OF SPOILER WARNING!

Well, to tell the truth, this is not a new group of players.  They are Others and they've been around since season one.  The only new people are Dagon and his interpreter (who is evidently named Lennon.)

What we don't know right now is exactly what happened to the Others during the three year period between the time the Oceanic 6 (plus 2) escaped the island and the second airplane (Flight 316) crash landed.  This group of Others ensconced in the temple seem to have taken up permanent residence there ever since being sent by Ben to escape the freighter mercenaries.  But there was also the other Others who are more docile and took up residence at the beach camp (these are the ones who followed Fake Locke and Ben to the four-toed statue foot and to Jacob.)  Hopefully, we will get the fill-in on what happened to cause this schism.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Dance.

I decided to try on the coat when I first directed the show in 1994.  ;D

What a coinkydink!  Tonight, I'm going to see Capital Playhouse's production of this very show!

This just in...

The Washington, DC area has Officially just set new record Winter snow fall amounts at the airports:

DCA, 54.9"; BWI: 72.3"; Dulles: 63.5"

*These are total snowfall amounts for the season so far, not just for the most recent snowstorms.  However, more than half of those snowfall amounts have occurred over the past week.

For those DRs in the NYC area...

It looks like a bunch of Broadway shows/theatres are offering extra "rush seats" for tonight's performances.  And, apparently, almost every currently running show is currently on TKTS right now.
