Elmore, I just bought "Easy Virtue" for $3 at Big Lots and sort of enjoyed it, too. I really wish, though, that people would stop lumping Noel and Cole together on soundtracks like that. Especially when the songs are played as instrumentals, you can tell the vast different in their musical styles. But I thought the movie could have been a lot worse. And Kristin Scott Thomas deserves some sort of award for allowing herself to be seen in such a completely unflattering light.

Good morning, all! I was tormented by several dreams about recording in Ireland, but I would swear I was in Australia, which means that even in my dreams my sense of geography is totally screwed up.

And where is MBarnum? He's been missed of late.
His wife was beaming when he answered Hugh's question about why he looked so happy. He said "I love my life and I love my wife."
After the show, Hugh explained that this is the time of the year that the theatres all raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. So he started an auction for a meet-and -greet backstage, a photo and his autographed t-shirt (that he had worn on stage). He started the bidding at $1,000. The Nancy Pelosi-hater said "let's just make it "10,000." Hugh looked stunned and said "how about $11,000." Someone in the mezzanine bid that amount. So the NP guy said "how about $20,000?" So Hugh stopped the bidding and someone brought out another t-shirt (from Act 1). He said he'd like to auction both and wondered whether the bidder in the mezzanine would go for $20,000. The man said yes, after his wife advised him to. So he made $40,000 in about 5 minutes.
Today's Favorite Old TV Guide Ad: "Can these stripes really protect me from careless item pricing?" A full page ad with a somewhat frightened looking woman holding what looks like a box of Saran Wrap with the "newfangled" technology of a UPC code on the bottom of the box. The ad goes into quite a bit of detail about how this incredible new convenience works.
I was quite surprised to turn to page A7 of the paper and see my face looking back at me
MBarnum would probably love the 1959 TV Guide as it sports *several* half page ads of a shirtless Clint Walker, proclaiming him "ready for action."
I'm up, finally, after a good night's sleep. And yes, where is MBarnum? Someone please write him and find out the deal.
