I guess they posted the closing notice after tonight's show...

FINIAN'S RAINBOW will be closing January 17, 2010.

Look to the Rainbow.

*I was hoping that as I scrolled back I would see the news posted here already.. I'm still on the bus.  :(

I was hoping to see it when I came in.  And I doubt the producers are up to the shenanigans of the Ragtime producers (you know who they are) - their one-week "extension" I believe was totally planned.  And maybe it will be two weeks and then four.  In the end, no matter how many weeks they play this game, they will lose their investors' entire investment.

But they will also keep a company of actors, musicians, technicians and house staff employed for one more, two more, ## more weeks. Producers invest in a show knowing the risk. Actors audition for a show hoping that it will run long enough for them to qualify for insurance.

Ah, well... Not the ideal situation for anyone involved. :-\

Here's the Playbill article http://www.playbill.com/news/article/135594-Wanna-Cry-Finians-Rainbows-End-Will-Be-Jan.-17

This is sad...but as it says in the article, at least there will be a cast recording.

Jose I took your advice and found the Broadway Box code -

the Vixter and I will be at the 2 PM performance of Ragtime on 1/2

I am sorry you won't be around to join us!

YEAH!  I'm sorry I won't be in town this weekend either, but I'm glad that you will be able to see the show.

*Now, if you'd like to use that code to buy me a ticket for next week... ;D

...And I really hope that someone from the production called DR elmore earlier tonight to share the news with him.  After all the time and LOVE that Larry has invested in this show, I would hate for him to wake up tomorrow morning and read the news on Playbill.com and/or on here. :-\

bk - As for P, P - YES!!!  -Just how would you "fix" the vocals? Are there some takes are more in tune? Or would some digital manipulation be involved?

Goodnight.

Ok, I know this is terrible, but I don't want to go to the party tomorrow night.  There I said it.  Hopefully I'll feel like going tomorrow...

There's nothing terrible about that.  Sometimes a quiet New Year's Eve is a good thing, and just what one needs to ring out the old and bring in the new.  Just play it by ear.  -Especially considering your "continuing" weather.

I've got all the tapes here.  From what I can tell from the digital copy they made of the multi-tracks (that's how they did this remix) the vocals seem to be clean, on separate tracks.  Therefore I can digitally pitch them where they need to be.  It's actually not THAT many notes and I wouldn't do everything but it would be great to fix the really egregious notes.

I think I'll actually start writing the notes in about thirty minutes, since they'll probably be longer than usual.

Time for sleep.  Tomorrow I have one potential client coming in and then we finish packing everything. I don't think we'll be able to move anything tomorrow, but I'm hoping we can move the small stuff over the weekend.  It all depends on how the carpeting goes tomorrow and how much cleaning was done tonight

Thanks Jose.  I will play it by ear, but things have been pretty crazy lately, I could use a little quiet alone time.

Ahhhh....I just finished burning a DVD after frantically editing up until the last minute. I'll still be tweaking in NY, in preparation of a meeting with the producer, director, composer and writer. My assistant editor worked on it today and I haven't watched it through but that's what I hope to do in the airport/plane.

I hope the weather plays nice and I can have better travels than last time!

I'll be staying down in the village on 10th if anyone would like to meet up. Greg and I just want to have a little break away from things. I hope this is a good idea! At least my housesitter is happy we're going away; she likes staying here, needs the money and loves the kitties!

Don't have time to read the notes tonight but want to wish Dakota a Happy Birthday!  And regarding your question, the Atlanta airport serves Marietta, and Southern Tech is a mile form my old house.
