Heading down now to sit on the porch for a bit enjoying the sunshine and warmth and then back to viewing.

Now I must go. I think I'm going to see The Secret Life of Bees and then come home and print a number of photos and email photos I took this morning of a certain candidate to friends who want to see them.  I got some very good photos.

[ However, I suspect they will set it up like the "American Idol" auditions with various levels of screening -

I first read that as "screeching."

Why, thank you.

Looks more like a momma squirrel to me.

I'm glad you posted before I had to give a sex-ed lecture.

Good Afternoon!

It certainly has been a strange weather day so far here in NYC.  It's kind of warm, balmy outside - mid- to upper 60s.  The rain has been coming and going over the past couple of hours, and the wind has also been gusting from time to time.  They were predicting lots of rain for today, but I've only seen one brief downpour so far.  I'm, more or less, in for the evening - I can definitely feel the past week catching up with me - so the rain is OK.  Now, if I could just get motivated to get some cleaning and laundry done.  ;)

Yep... It's a lazy afternoon here at Chez Harlem.  However, it looks like I'll be heading out in a few with my roommate, Jim, and his father (who's visiting this weekend) for a late brunch at Community Food & Juice.  -Blueberry Pancakes! YUM!!

And not just any blueberries, Wild Main blueberries-DOUBLE YUM!

<nod>

-Although, I decided to have their traditional breakfast today - two eggs (over easy), canadian bacon, carrot hash browns and a whole wheat biscuit.  And I washed it all down with a totally yummilicious Hot Buttered Cider.  Jim's father did have the Blueberry Pancakes, and he really liked them - and ended up treating us to brunch too!  :)

I'm not sure that Tina Fey will be back on "SNL" tonight, but tonight's host is John Hamm.  I wonder what kind of  "Mad Men" parody they will be doing.

OH!

After my lunch yesterday, I went ahead and stopped by the Carnegie Hall box office to see if they had any tickets left for tomorrow's piano recital by Maurizio Pollini.  I know which box office ticket system they use, and know how to read the seating codes.  Well, when the screen came up, I noticed that every seat was sold - even the one's set aside for VIPs.  Well, every seat was sold except one - smack dab in the center of the last row of the balcony - the last row of the hall.  So... I'll be seeing Pollini tomorrow afternoon at Carnegie Hall.  :)

*And I'm wondering if it will be like his last recital where after playing for over two hours, he ended up playing another hour's worth of encores.

Jose,

Do any of the breakfast joints serve Taylor Pork Roll or is that just a Joisey thing?

I've seen "pork roll" listed on some menus - actually some of the Dominican places do(?) - but I'm not sure if they serve Taylor's.

...piano recital by Maurizio Pollini

Wikipedia observes:

Quote
…Pollini is sometimes accused of emotional conservatism

So, I guess he keeps all his clothes on.

I have succumbed to the power of suggestion - I just polished off a Tuna Fish Salad on Wry sandwich. The caraway seeds in the salad found their match in the bread.

I didn't watch LIFE yet, so i didn't see the notification that it was moving to wednesdays (i wonder if the canadian station that shows it fridays at 8pm will move it as well).

I think it is obviously better for the show to be on wednesdays (i do watch lipstick jungle). That is not very good for it that it now gets the friday slot.

Life will be on i guess against private practice (not really sure how popular that is).

I actually really enjoyed this week's GHOST WHISPERER. I think it was my favorite of the season.

I really miss payne. And sometimes i wonder why they use cameryn manheim (sp?) so little. She only got one scene last night.

But i really liked the cruise!

I'm having a reaction to my flu shot. I've never had that happen before. I have a big red welt where I got it and it's a very hot red welt. I took a Claritin and a nap this afternoon. It seems to be a little better

I'm curious, did the reaction happen within 30 minutes? (here they make us stay for a while after to make sure there is no reaction.

Did they give you a number to call if you had a reaction?

I'm getting mine in a few weeks.

Do you guys have to pay for flu shots?

Ha, High School Musical 3 has been open for one day and my 13 year old niece who came over today has already seen it. She was invited to see it at a party today. But she had already seen it yesterday! She said it was great.

I agree Michael!  Our old backyard used to get dozens of dragonflies (I'm not sure if it was the pool or the plants that attracted them), but I loved watching them.

I would LIKE to see John Hamm.....but I really don't want to see any of the "stars" of Saturday Night Live and what passes for comedy on that show now.....so I shall forgo the privilege.

And here....COPS is being pre-empted by THE WORLD SERIES of what I guess must be baseball.

WALK ON THE WILD SIDE
TRUE GRIT all by Elmer Bernstein

EXPERIMENT IN TERROR by Henry Mancini

BILLIE by Dominic Frontiere
