JMK - it's not that they're upping it a thousand bucks for only a two CD set.  If I put two scores on one CD it's also a thousand bucks more.  And I can't charge more than I am for one CD no matter how many scores are on it.

Yes this is not the weekend to start anything new or take a new direction.  Let the status quo reign until Sunday evening....then jump in with both feet.

Thanks for all the subsequent Anniversary Wishes.

I will have to listen to this at home. We have been instructed to pack up our desks and my headphones are in a box right now.

MBarnum - That's one of my favorite memories of that TV show.  My brother and I sing that whenever we get a suitable chance.

The studio audience sounds like they're having a great time.  I wonder if that was shot in front of a live audience.  :)

Good Afternoon!

I LOVED "Julie & Julia". And, yes, I cried. A couple of times. The Food was amazing, but the Love Stories were even better. And since a good chunk of it was set in NYC, I loved seeing some very familiar sights. Bur what really made me tear up was seeing some dear friends and colleagues on screen - Congratulations to them (too)!!

Nice!

Oy! The craziness has begun at my office (as if there wasn't enough craziness).

There has been some construction (I'm fine with that since it's not near me and doesn't affect my work). Now that the construction is near completion the carpet on the 3rd Floor is being replaced. It does need to be replaced, it's been 11 years with heavy foot traffic and a slob or two so that's not the craziness. Since we live in a cubicle world all the cubicles have to be un-assembled so the carpet can be torn up and replaced and then the cubicles have to be re-assembled. This entire process will take weeks and will be done in shifts. They have moved a portion of the third floor to various spaces and they will be gone for the next two weeks (at the very least). I looked at some of the work spaces and it's a Human Resources nightmare!

We have a conference room with a long table. I've been in the room for presentations and meetings and when it's full it gets warm (even with air conditioning). When it's full to overflowing with 15 people AND their computers AND some people use TWO monitors it's scary. They have taken over another smaller meeting room that is crowded when 4 people are in there with just a table and chairs. There are now 6-8 people in there with computers, monitors, tables and chairs. UGH!

I don't know when I'll be moved or where I'll be moved but I'm planning on asking my supervisor's supervisor if I can work from home. I have high speed and if I have a meeting I can be here in 5 minutes.

99 percent of the people I work with are lovely and wonderful but there are one or two with whom I would rather not be sequestered. It reminds me of a lifeboat and someone may go overboard. It ain't gonna be me!

Just keep telling yourself..."And This Too Shall Pass!" :D

Or, as Violet said in "9 to 5" (the movie...I don't know about the musical), "I'm a tree...I can bend."

That Flintstones clip is also a favorite of mine, although we didn't get to the piano rolling down a hill while the gang is still singing!

I've loved Michael Emerson since he first appeared. I think his performance is inspired, and down through the seasons, he actually keeps viewers guessing about his motivations, his sincerity, etc. To be honest, the year Terry O'Quinn won the Emmy (season 3), I thought Michael should have won that year (he was nominated as was Naveen Andrews who plays Said).

While I ate lunch today, I watched last night's ROYAL PAINS. As usual, Evan was a major pain in the butt, but otherwise, I enjoyed the episode. I like the ex-husband coming into the story. That should make for some interesting situations.

Then I settled in with today's work project, HANNAH MONTANA: THE MOVIE. TYpical Disney fluff (G-rated, of course) with lots of slapstick, romantic misunderstandings and then a happy ending. Film-by-numbers moviemaking, but there were a couple of good tunes (I really liked "The Climb"), and it was a pleasure to see some pros along with Miley and Billy Ray: Margo Martindale, Vanessa Williams, both very welcome indeed.

I had time to watch all of the bonus stuff too: the usual bloopers, behind the scenes chats with the cast and crew, a look at some of the casts' hometowns, commentary, instruction on the hoedown dance number that's the movie's big production number.

I believe Boring Morass was an actor much like Peter Lorre - he may have been the first choice to play Sebastian in THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.  Or maybe his is Hot House exclusive XXX video star, I can't remember.

I agree that Michael Emerson's performance is inspired - inspired by Kevin Spacey. :)  There's not a look, a line reading, a gesture that doesn't reek of Mr. Spacey.  And given that he spent a lot of time with Mr. Spacey in The Iceman Cometh, I suppose it's understandable.  I'm not saying his performance isn't fine - it is - but to not acknowledge the Spaceyisms is to be turning a blind eye.

I've done all my errands and have spent the last two hours trying to make sense out of what could be our upcoming release.  I got it all into movie order, which is helpful, but many tracks will have to be edited together - but on the first hearing, which is difficult because there's no flow due to the constant pauses and slates at the head of each track (which won't be removed until the mastering guy begins editing), it seems like it might just play well.  I'm still not sure how long the score is because once the slates and pauses go it will probably be five to eight minutes shorter.  That said, there's slightly over an hour of music, so if I do the score proper, and then the alternates as a bonus suite, then I think we'll be fine and it will be a good thing as I've always wanted to do something with this composer, who is still alive and well.  In fact, he's agreed to do an interview for the Kritzerland site, and answer some questions for my liner notes in the booklet.
