I shall now be on my way to a work session.  Has anyone posted a photo since our purge?

Cool!  I wanted to compare prices between Amazon.com and Deepdiscount.com (no longer deepdiscountDVD.com or deepdiscountCD.com, they've been combined).  BUT, on my home computer for this entire weekend, I couldn't get to Amazon.com!  All I got was the "This page cannot be displayed" message!  At work and my sister's computer, it was fine, but my home computer wouldn't allow it!  I just tried and it's finally working.  Anyway, Amazon.com is about $2.62 cheaper (but I have to pay tax and buy something else to get the free shipping), but, it's still less than Deepdiscount.com.  It has NOW been purchased. :)

I've never purchased a CD from DeepDiscount but I've generally found that their DVD prices were lower than Amazon--sometimes much lower.  But I mostly buy from Amazon because I have the deal where all two-day shipping is free.  DeepDiscount is also free, but always longer than two days.

As for "Grease...."  - Just remember to check out Seth Rudetsky's recap on Playbill.com.  -I guess he was short on time this week since he didn't go into as much detail as has been, but it's still a fun read.

RE: The Voting on "Grease..."  -I strongly suspect there will be a couple of so-called curve balls thrown into the process as we go along.  Mainly to help NBC bring in more viewers.  -And, also to keep David Ian happy.

*I do have to wonder about the cameras last night on Sir Andrew.  Some of his initial reactions were priceless.

DR Jeanne, I too liked TIPPING THE VELVET, and if you haven't read the novel, you might enjoy it as well.  The ending is different in the novel but equally satisfying.  I caught a bit of THE FINGERSMITH on BBC and it also looks quite interesting.

Thank you all for the good wishes.  My dad's girlfriend Lucille has arrived, and she's a lovely lady.  She's taking it all quite hard, but her patience sitting at his bedside is quite moving.  Hospice just left.  They're upping the dosage on his pain medication.

Now, let me tell you how difficult life in a house of smokers can be!  The Claritin works wonders on my allergies to the dogs and I really love them.

Tonight, of course, as we're in the midst of sweeps, we've got new episodes of the CBS comedies, the NBC dramas (including HEROES) and two hours of '24.'

And the Westminster Kennel Dog Show!

It doesn't matter to me how long it takes for me to get something, as long as I get it...so I'll almost always go for the cheaper price.  Of the DVDs that I've purchased, there have been a few (very few) cases where Amazon has lower prices.

As for what used to be DeepDiscountCD.com, about half of the orders that I've placed with them were cancelled without any notification to me!  I would place an order and everything would be fine, but then they would never take my money.  I'd go and check on the order status and it would say "Complete"...I'd go into the specific order and everything would show $0.  And that would be it.  Nothing else. :P So, I rarely ever ordered from DeepDiscountCD.com, but the DVD side was great.  Hopefully, now that they've combined and have a lot of other items (posters, storage, etc.) the DVDs will still be fine and the CDs will be better. :-\

I think the key thing to remember is that it doesn't matter what they "say" on the show about us looking at the next Danny and Sandy -- and then bringing back two more people -- or saying that "we" will decide the winners.  The fact is, they do reserve the right to make key decisions when they are certain the public is wrong.  Last night, they truly made the right decisions as both those singers were the weakest links.

That said - David Ian is still fortunate in that he seems to have more than a few contstants who could do the job.

Forgive my ignorance, but who was Caterina Valente?  I honestly never heard of her.
Caterina is possible best known to North Americans for her top 10 hit in 1955 "The Breeze and I".  She was on an early 60's variety show with Carol Burnett and Dom Deloise called "The Entertainers:

Caterina was born of Italian parentage in Paris (1931). She sang in six language and was atop European act.  She is a favourite of François and myself.
A disc of Caterina's best known songs will be sent to Philadelpia.

My understanding is that a "brown bag" means you bring your own lunch...  I don't mind them buying, but am I wrong about that?

I think you are right (don't quote me). "Brown Bag" suggests bring you own, otherwise it would say something like "order-in".
