Gulp - I just bought a new car!  I've leased my last 2 cars, which was OK until I started working full time and traveling a bit for my job and piling on the miles.  GM, in addition to the heavily-advertised "employee discount for all," has an early out program for leases that expire between now and the end of February.  So, for about the same monthly payment, tomorrow I will be the owner (not leaser) of a 2005 Pontiac Vibe.  If I hadn't been able to walk away from my current lease, I'd probably have had to pay for over mileage.  So, please send some Vibe vibes tomorrow.

DR FJL: Congrats on your move to Full Member! I did happen to know that Max is doing THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG. In fact, my friend TJ just asked me if I thought he should take a chorus role in it! It IS a small world after all...

DR Ginny, DR Jason, DR Jose  - thanks for the good wishes.

DR Jose - additional thank you for risking ridicule by showing me through your example that I didn't reach the heights of desperation (maybe the depths of desperation, but not the heights).

This is a wonderful place - my mother always wanted to me to be a DR, and HHW has made a sweet Jewish lady in Brooklyn very happy.

Cillaliz, the freezer conked out again during the night and we lost all of the contents.  We should have moved all the food to the spare refrigerator in the garage.  It is there now.  Tomorrow we will pick up a few items for the freezer section.

Ozderek’, may your stay in the hospital be as comfortable as possible.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DERBRUCER-hope you had a great day.

Jennifer, feel better soon.

Wow, a God and a Goddess this week! Congrats to both FJL and Hisaka!!!

I am now cooking corn on the cob...all this talk of it made me want to buy some at the store. And so I did.

I had some excitement tonight.  I was pretty bored and my friend Paul wanted me to go out for a beer (when he says a beer he means A beer) anyway, I came home and found a bat circling my 12 foot ceiling in the living room. The cats were on the floor spellbound. Sort of like watching a tennis game in the round - or bobble heads!

So I called my neighbor Helen. She's a problem solver type of person. She dragged her husband over and we were in the living room with 2 rakes and a broom trying to get the bat.  I told them I didn't want to kill it, because they eat mosquitos. (The cats were safely shut in the basement)

Well, we were having no luck, so I called my neighbor (he's a state trooper - used to capturing things, if you know what I mean) So he came over and with the rakes a sheet and a towel we finally captured the bat and freed him outside. He was not a happy camper - the screeches he was letting out were really loud!

The funniest thing was when I called the trooper - He answered and I said "Tim, this is Priscilla, I have a bat in my livingroom and need your help!"  He said "You have a what? Who is this anyway?"  He thought I was a crazy calling him. But we got past that and I am now, hopefully, batless
