SADLY, for me, "Ronald" was a popular name after WWII, and primarily, I don't know why, my mother said she always loved "Ronald Reagan's" name.

My mother wanted to name me "George Lee" initially (!!!!) and my maternal grandfather was hurt I wasn't named after him (Lester Lee). I'm steamed I wasn't named after my paternal grandfather (none of my cousins were, either)...his name was Benjamin.

I'd have LOVED being named Benjamin.

My mom originally wanted to name me George Dougherty, Jr. (my dad doesn't have a middle name), but my dad was in the army and was stationed in Alabama when I was born. He said that he knew way too many 40-year-olds named "Junior" to let that happen to me. But then he also (jokingly?) said that he wanted to name me "Stanislaus." What kind of a life would I have had as a Stan?? Anyway, they settled on George Patrick Dougherty.

I am still wondering if it is a coincidence that my name is Jack Randall - neither of the names belongs to ANYONE else in my ancestral family....but there is a B-movie cowboy with the name.....I just don't know...and nobody is saying nothin' !!

I don't know where they got my first name, but my middle name is a shortened version of Heathcliff, which was inspired by "Wuthering Heights."

Here's one that didn't happen, DR JRand. My father wanted to name my sister or me Della after his late mother, but with a surname of Ellis, my mother thought it would sound too much like Stella Dallas.

The weirdest thing happened. I'm reading this book called Something Blue (by Emily Giffin). It's summer 2005 so I knew I hadn't read it before. But it seemed so familiar and it was driving me crazy. Anyhow I just looked up her first book (Something Borrowed) and it says that the 2nd book (the one I'm reading now) is the same story but told from another character's point of view.

Now why on earth does it not say anything about that on the book jacket?!?! I thought I was going crazy. But in one of the first chapters we have our narrator (Darcy) walking in on her fiancee and her best friend (he was hiding in the closet). But in book 1 the narrator was the best friend! I actually wish that I hadn't read the first book so long ago!

Oh and re: who will get killed off of LOST.

This is not really a spoiler but just something my sis mentioned re: Shannon. A few weeks ago the actor Naveen (who plays Sayid) mentioned that he and Shannon will be having a love scene. Since I don't think that has happened yet, if it does not happen by the middle of tomorrow's show, then Shannon probably won't be dying!

Btw, if you're gonna make banana muffins using a banana cake recipe, make sure that you realize that muffins only take 25 minutes, while cake takes 50 minutes to bake.

Well luckily i noticed I was using a banana cake recipe like 2 minutes before I put the muffins in the oven.

Oh and I am the worst for checking if they are ready. I put the toothpick and there was no batter (this was at 20 minutes). I put the toothpick in like 5 muffins, no batter. But I know they almost always take another 5 minutes. So i cut into the one i was going to eat, and it was a touch gooey at the top. Lucky! I don't want to give anyone gooey muffins!

I wonder if they are doubling up TAR episodes just to get through this run that much quicker since they realize that ratings are off. I don't recall other races having a two hour episode other than the finales.

I was going to say to DR Jrand that he will eventually have to put up with more of the Gaghans when TAR does it's clip show, but they usually broadcasted that at the midpoint of the race. After tonight there may be only three to four teams left, so I doubt that there will be a clip show at this point.
