Elinor Donahue (from FATHER KNOWS BEST and the first season of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW among other roles) played the youngest sister.

Elinor is from Tacoma, and I am proud to say that we took tap lessons from the same teacher.  Hopefully she learned more than I did from him.

Here is a list of the cast members who recorded for BK and the albums they did.

Michael X Martin (Bed & Sofa)

BK has also worked with Michael's wonderful wife, Shauna Hicks.

My sister-in-law Jo just sent me this fantastic photo of my dad.  It's huge and I fear it will send us into Major Cinemascope.  Can any DR help me cut him down to size?

I know.  I sound like Lady Macbeth!

This going to have to be a hi and bye night.  I had some emails to answer and by the time I caught up on posts, we're almost to my stop!

Have a good evening all!

She's billed in the film as Mary Elinor Donahue, and when Jane was talking about her sisters in the movie, she called her "Mary Elinor." Ann Todd played the middle sister.

Here is the album BK produced with the Baja Marimba Band. Very rare album.

It is the only album I have by BK that he produced that I don't have!

It's the only album you have...that you don't have??

As those who've read Kritzer Time know, both Benjamin and my first role in a high school play was as Judge Hawthorne in The Crucible.

Thanks, O wise one.....of course I've read Kritzer Time, but I don't automatically assume a "Benjamin parallel" all of the time.   The Crucible ehh??  My....very heavy and heady stuff!

Off to clean the den now. Then, I'll do a little reading, and then begin the evening of DVD watching.

The nice thing about doing The Crucible is that it led me to Robert Ward's wonderful opera of it, and Mr. Ward's music in general (I think I mention the opera in the book).  Years later, when I began Bay Cities, our very first release was of Mr. Ward's music and I became very friendly with him - we ended up doing four or five CDs of his music.

I don't seem to have a Peanut Butter Pie - I believe everyone ignored my request for someone to make one and Fed Ex it to me.

I am thinking about making one for my work pot-luck tomorrow, but I don't think that one would survive the trip to your area of the country. :-\

George,  I'd make it and freeze it. then i would think it would survive. it's very rich, so you'd want small pieces...well maybe not

Beatrice Straight is only on screen for five minutes and forty seconds, making hers the briefest performance ever to win an Oscar.

Wasn't Emma Thompson's screen time in "In the Name of the Father" very short, also?  I remember hearing something about only five minutes or so and still getting a supporting actress nomination, but I don't recall the details.  Anyone else know anything about it?

I could do it...but it'll be a HELL of a lot cheaper if you just make it yourself.  Shipping frozen food ain't cheap, ya know. ;)

DRGeorge, thanks!  That photo, from the background, seems to be about 30 years old.  That's a room in the house where I grew up, 3003 Goldman Avenue.  My parents bought a huge piece of real estate in the country in 1980.

Unless you want to fly me down, pay for a hotel and have me make it at your very own house, in person...I can do that, too! ;D

I heard back from the CI today. She says I'm all set to be there for four days, but she didn't tell me if it's the same rate and the Choice website still says I'm going to be there for 5 so I don't know what to think.  I emailed and asked if the rate was the same, but haven't heard back on that yet

BK, I may be wrong, but I thought either the Bistro or House of Pies had peanut butter pie on the menu. I don't know that it's a similar recipe.  If it isn't there, it's someplace I ate in LA....

I want my Peanut Butter Pie.  Cost is no object as long as I'm not paying.

I'm so hungry right now I could eat an iPod.  But, I'm holding out until I get to the Ahmanson at six.  Once there, I shall eat like the wind and I think we all know how the wind eats.

Actually, I don't think that either House of Pies or Marie Callendar's has peanut butter pie.  I'll doublecheck, though.
