Yesterday Anita Gillette was helping out. What a sweet and kind woman. She's positive and full of energy and was a great help. We don't get many "celebrities" helping out but Anita has been by for at least one day for the past three years. Her significant other is from England and she spends time between New York, London and California. Apparently she was in one of the CSIs I think. I couldn't tell which show she was talking about. They liked her very much and want to expand her character in coming episodes.

She played Lily Flynn (Catherine Willows' mother) in two episodes of CSI (the basic issue in Las Vegas).

She also played Quicey's wife and was nominated for Broadway's 1978 Tony Award as Best Actress (Play) for "Chapter Two." (She played the Marsha Mason part)

She was original slated for Off B'ways "Oldest Profession" ,but seems to have been replaced by Patricia Lopez.

Quote
Gillette won a 1960 Theatre World for Russell Patterson's Sketchbook and was nominated for a 1978 Tony Award for her work in Chapter Two. Her other Broadway credits include Gypsy, Carnival!, Guys and Dolls, Don't Drink the Water, Cabaret, They're Playing Our Song and Brighton Beach Memoirs.

I have to keep the bags small & convenient for the trains & walking to the hotel in DC.

I know this might be an alien concept for a Valley Girl, but DC has very inexpensive Taxis.

Someone has been shopping for PennyO:

Hepburn's 'Tiffany' Dress Sells for $800,000

Quote
The iconic black dress Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1961 movie Breakfast At Tiffany's fetched $800,000 at auction in London yesterday. The lot was only expected to fetch $135,000, with all proceeds from the sale donated to the City Of Joy Aid, which helps Indians living in poverty.

That is unless Keith bought it to surprise Jane.

George-I appreciated the link.  It just wouldn’t seem like my birthday without a tribute to Pearl Harbor.  Having my birthday on this day has always made me appreciate the good in my life, not how fun my special day is or isn’t.

Back from errands and shipping out the press copies of Skinner/Ripley.  Can someone confirm the Saturday breakfast thing?  The Saturday after-show thing will once again be Genghis Cohen.

Didn't you used to live in Greater Burbank?

I grew up in Cheviot Hills, down the road from 20th Century Fox, behind Hillcrest Country Club & near Rancho Park where I practically lived.

Keith and I moved to the Valley in the early seventies.

Oh, and we never lived in Burbank.  I'm trying to think where our first Valley apartment was in Van Nuys when Keith worked at the Studio Theater.  Our first house was in Reseda.

Off to pack.

I also loved this week's show. Especially how Alison learned her info from watching the video cam. It was a nice change.

And I too love watching the kids, especially bridget. She is a hoot.

So little to do and so much time to do it in.

I'm frazzled.

Yep.  And it was great to see Allison indicate that her gift for Joe was from her AND Marie (the youngest girl).  I thought that ashtray from Bridget was a perfect touch.

From all indications, next week's show will feature the youngest daughter, Marie, as Joe becomes concerned that Marie is beginning to display abilities.

Every day this week has "felt like" Friday to me.

I thought it might have something to do with Friday being my last work day until the New Year, but others here have commented on this "feeling."

Has anyone else wondered what would happen if George's production of "Cannibals" met up with BK's production of "The Brain That Wouldn't Die"?

As has been happening quite a bit lately, we had an overlong lunch which limited time to watch things once I got home.

However, the weather was certainly cooperative as it must have been near 60. I didn't need the light jacket I was wearing.

I saw the original production of CABARET in a matinee performance in the summer of 1968. Anita Gillette was Jill Haworth's matinee replacement, and she was an outstanding Sally Bowles. In fact, several of the originals had moved on to other things. Joel Grey was doing GEORGE M! by then (we saw that the night before we saw CABARET). We did see Lenya and Jack Gilford. John Cunningham had taken over from Bert Convey and Martin Ross was playing the Emcee.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die?  Never heard of it.  I shall now be on my way to have a bite to eat, then to LACC for a bit of reblocking and rehearsal and tonight's preview/final dress.

I began my afternoon viewing with a CSI: MIAMI episode from Season 4. I had no memory of this episode, so it was fun seeing a "new" one. It involved two murders on a cruise ships right off the shores of Miami.

Next I watched the first episode from disc 2 in the BONES set. In this one, a prisoner on death row within 40 hours of execution convinces his lawyer to have the Jeffersonian scientists to rexamine the evidence in his case. One of the show's most gasp-inducing episodes, and it was a pleasure to see it again. A great surprise ending.

A second BONES episode introduced us to Temperance's former anthropology professor/love interest who is being courted by a local university to head their department. They find themselves on opposite sides of a murder case involving a skeleton found in a refrigerator. Wonderful episode but another disappointment for Temperance in the love department.
