I almost forgot! On this, his natal day, DR Michael Shayne gets a mention in Peter Filichia's column. Here's the link. It's down in the middle of the column (about 6 paragraphs in, where PF talks about Catch Me If You Can).

BK, I don't think blintzes have fallen out of favor.  The bagel shop a few minutes away from me sells them every single day.  And my brother-in-law (who is actually filipino) loves them and eats them quite often!

The German blintz on London was a terrible thing.

Question for BK:

Have you ever designed for the stage?  Costumes, lights or scenery?  When and where?

And who are some of your favorite designers?

Good morning, all!  This is a relatively quiet day:  I have a date at 11:30 with the folk from Rodgers & Hammerstein about some work, and I have reports to write as well as a weekly letter to the head of the foundation with the recording project.  That's more than enough for the day!

The German blintz on London was a terrible thing.

It really was. Do you know how difficult it is to remove that dried-on cherry glop from the dome of St. Pauls?

Re the Filichia column and Micahel Shayne's letter to him - The only other Broadway flop play I can think of that had more than one screen life would be ALFIE, which was the subject of a BK trivia question (truly a major honor!!!) and also two movies.

BK - The ASCAP Workshop show that sent the press release seems to be EMERALD MAN.  Here's the Playbill article again.

Our local Jewish deli stopped serving blintzes, bolstering BK's theory that the blintz has fallen out of favor. I used to love them. Adrianna, it's kind of like a burrito filled with cottage cheese and fruit! Yummy!

BK-my question would be, what is the best theatre restoration you have seen?

And what restored theatre has the most successful programming, in your opinion? The type that makes it a destination point, that would draw people from a large radius because it was unique, or it had some alluring identity?

I don't believe I've had a proper blintz since 1989.

Good morning!

Another beautiful morning and again very cold. I can't believe that we're supposed to get snow, sleet, and freezing rain tomorrow. Right now, there isn't a cloud in the sky. Couldn't be more beautiful outside for a January day.

I have seen every episode of DIRT so if you have any questions about the show or characters, I'll be glad to try to answer them for you.
