My favorite thing about Frank Sinatra is that my DS discovered that he is the one who sings "Love and Marriage" on Married with Children. That led him to another kind of music besides the hard rock he had liked, for which I am very grateful.

I have to go ahead and pack a small bag to carry on the plane with me, and I'm also taking my laptop. My hotel says that it has free wi-fi throughout the entire hotel. It is a relatively new property, so I hope it works fairly dependably.

I'll try to check in here a little during the trip. I just know that it is REALLY hot here in Phoenix; and I'm afraid it may be very hot AND very sticky in Indy. So........ to quote dear Jose.......

I have trouble discussing Frank Sinatra when we refer to him as FS. Where I work, FS means Food Stamps, even though they haven't actually gotten STAMPS in Washington for years.

However, I have always been a fan of Sinatra the singer, and sometimes Sinatra the actor. I have never been a fan os Sinatra the person, but then I never met him either.

I watched some interesting things on TV tonight.

I began with another MURDER SHE WROTE episode, this one dealing with the death of a man who was giving many Cabot Cove residents a hard time. Lorna Luft was a guest star.

Next I watched some of the special features on the LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES DVD. There were three interview featurettes with people either associated with the film, or in the case of one feature, two critics defending it as a Cocteau work as opposed to a Melville film. I have to agree. I haven't seen a huge number of Melville films, but none of them looked like this, had this kind of feel or mood.

Tonight on TCM was a new RIchard Schickel documentary called SPIELBERG ON SPIELBERG. Since Spielberg doesn't do commentaries on his film DVDs, it was nice to get some comments on his career going all the way back to the Joan Crawford episode on NIGHT GALLERY and carrying him up through MUNICH. (The only feature films that got NO mention at all were the two Indiana Jones sequels, THE LOST WORLD, ALWAYS, and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, at least as well as I could remember without a filmography in front of me.)

Worth watching once if you're interested in his films at all.

I finished the evening going back to LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES and listening to more of the commentary and also looking at the trailer (which showed the ending!) and the stills gallery, many of the behind-the-scenes stills showing Cocteau on the set during shooting or during set-ups.

One night last week, my bedroom (which is at the top of a three-story townhouse) was 89.2 degrees! Fortunately, the temperature has gone down since then, but that one evening was the hottest...and not in the good way.

I realize that baseball is not a high priority here at HHW, but is anyone else watching the new mini-series THE BRONX IS BURNING? It is an interesting mix of NY Yankee history mixed with the Son of Sam killings and some politics and humor thrown in for good measure.

Very entertaining so far.

Well, it was great seeing DR vixmom and the ever-energetic vixter again earlier tonight at dinner and dessert. We had pizza at John's Pizza, and then we, minus DR Jason, headed over to Junior's for dessert.

Then after dessert, I attempted to get a ticket for tonight's performance of Les Miserables, but...

It's in the Mezzanine, Center, six rows back. $61.25
-That's when I realized that she had been motioning the whole time to the slot in the window where I should have placed my credit card.

So, I did not go to see Les Miserables tonight, and, sadly, I probably would have had I not had such a rude experience with the woman at the box office. Ah, well.
