I have new neighbors who have been moving in for two days: a young married couple, and although they didn't say anything, she looked like they may soon be joined by a third.

Tomovoz, I’m enjoying your bear photos.  It is only right that you should have bear photos on your birthday, even if you post them yourself.

Singdaw, that is nice you get out twice a day.  I should get back in the habit of doing that.

And for those DRs in warmer climes, here a couple of pictures of New York City as it gears up for the holidays...

I watched three more episodes of DIRT. This leaves me with only two left in the set. Of course, there are also numerous bonus features. I will hopefully be finished with the set tonight.

I'm back from NYPL and Holy Trinity where I prayed for my dad and had a good cry.  I think I'll wrap my gifts for Randy and Jo tonight and ship them out on Monday or Tuesday by 3rd day Fed Ex.

DR Jose, the chili sounds fabulous.  That reminds me that I've had no lunch,  Hmmmmm . . .

DR Jose - thank you for the photos of NYC at Christmastime.  I'd sure like to be there!

Oh, and your chili looks faboo!

Next, I watched last night's 30 ROCK. Elaine Stritch reprised her Emmy-winning turn as Alec Baldwin's mother, and there was some fun stuff with Liz's parents played by Buck Henry and Anita Gillette. Andy Richter played Liz's brother.

This is the view from the upper lobby of Jazz at Lincoln Center - which is in the Time-Warner Center.  From left to right you see Trump Tower (also the home of Jean-Georges and Nougatine), and The Holiday Market at Columbus Circle... And Central Park in the background.

I finished my afternoon viewing by skimming though today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay folks and none in next week's previews. Bah, humbug!

DR Elmore - I was wondering this morning when Charlotte would be home.  Maybe she'll bring you a Michigan sweatshirt to keep you warm!

And after making their debut last year at this time, they're back for a return engagement:

Thank you DRs for the greetings. E-cards  and emails arrived today form present and past DRs.

And now!  Disco songs, cards, cakes assorted pics and greetings. A lovely way to start my day.

Thank you to all and the sundried.

I'm still thinking about DerB's photo from New Zealand! (they don't even speak the same language there).

Good to know DR Jeanne enjoyed the Argentinian movie.

I love the Christmas decoration photos. I propose that on Christmas Eve Day we all post photos of holiday stuff in our own locales.

And here I am with my parents last Friday when they came up for the day.  We're standing in front of one of the "Good Morning America" windows.

*I still can't believe that my Mom's coat was/is so BLUE.  -And Diane Sawyer is somewhere behind that window display too.  ;)

As with Dear Reader Laura - we celebrate my mother's birthday still - not the anniversary of her death - by having a lovely day. (Christmas in July).

We still like to light a candle at meal times on occasions - it is a focus for remembering friends who have left and friends who are having problems.

I sincerely doubt it.
