Well, you've read the notes, the notes had tid, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're dining on tidbits right now.

DR Jane - we have two routes that we do at a fairly leisurely pace. We do 1.5 miles before work in half an hour, and a 3.5 mile post-work route that takes about an hour.

Very!!  Now, I'll have time to do (or watch) things...not that I'll necessarily actually do (or watch) things that've been saved up, but it'll be MY CHOICE not to do something. ;)

Hmm....

Did anyone else receive the NYMF newsletter [ The 11 O'Clock Number ]?

Nice... Glossy stock.  Color.  Must have cost them a bundle.

Did anyone notice any particular omissions on the back...under "NYMF Alumni Success Stories"?  Any particular show which has had a new International production, and another domestic production planned?

Hmm.....

Good morning, all!  I've sent DR tomovoz my email birthday wishes and I've checked my bank balance, so I can begin the day with a trek to the Post Offie.  My branch opens at 8 and I want to be one of the first ones in to mail my packages.  I'm a bit down today: my father would have turned 86 today.

My other plans for today include laundry and the NYPL Music Collection, and I look forward to both.

BK, I too don't understand the SHOW BOAT delay; I thought the DVD had been announced over a year ago.  I love the 1936 film, whenever Helen Morgan walks on camera it's a moment both magical and tragic, and the cast is so fantastic.

TOD:
DVD: Hairspray, Knocked Up which I've been meaning to see forever, Brothers & Sisters season 1
CD:  Kathleen Battle, Marilyn Horne, and other holiday CDs
VCR:  I hope Santa will be good; this porn is stale!

DR MBARNUM, I saw Latitude Zero at the drive in....about 40 years ago, it seemed to be a mixed up mess and I don't remember much of it.  But I did stay to watch it until the end.

TOD

DVD - Step Down to Terror, a U-I/B thriller from 1959 or so which seems to be a remake or rethink of SHADOW OF A DOUBT. Sent by DR MBARNUM

CD - Josh Groban Christmas

VHS - Never Steal Anything Small with Mr James Cagney and Ms Cara Williams

Happily, it's a bit overcast right now.  And the weekend forecast is for "a good soak".  They need the rain badly down here, so it's a GOOD thing.

Today is "cemetery day"!  This is the day each year my mom, my aunt and I visit family plots and place some flowers on graves.

We also visit with one of my mom's first cousins who babysat my mom when she was little.  "Cousin Dot" is the daughter of one of my maternal grandfather's sisters.

We'll have a good meal.  Then, we will place the flowers.  And finally we'll head back home with a stop at Westgate Mall for some shopping, etc.  There's even a CostCo across the road and we may go sightseeing there, too.

I had a GREAT night's sleep.  Best sleep I've had since I don't know when.  It's probably because I was pretty darned tired from the trip.

I blame "Hairspray", one of the several inflight movies.  Had they not tempted me with "Hairspray", I'd have napped a couple of more hours as we headed east.

"Hairspray" -- a pretty darned spiffy and good movie musical.  Nikki Blonsky was perfect as Tracy Turnblad.  And James Marsden was exceptional as Corny Collins.  Travolta was....well....you never once forgot he was Travolta in a rather bad "fat suit" as fat suits go.

Of course, finding something "to say" would have been the big challenge since all I had done since my short message yesterday afternoon was unpack and nap.

Still....my mom fried chicken for supper!  Yessirree...my mom's fried chicken!!!!

And we had potatoes and green beans and cooked applies and wheat rolls.

And there is a rum cake with my name on it that hasn't YET been sliced because I made a p-i-g pig out of myself with the fried chicken.

I know it's early...west coast time.  But I find it odd we're still on page 1.

Lots of wussburgering going on, I expect.

However, I was glad I didn't have several pages up with which I'd have to catch.

Ben must be sleeping in.

Or...he's dropped and broken his oatmeal bowl and is in distress.
