I was just in Manhattan Beach (I like to call it "Man Beach") at this time last week. We had breakfast twice (not in the same day!) at Le Pain Quotidien. We loved it; even got sandwiches from there to take on the plane with us.

If they opened one of these in Atlanta, it would be a hit, I'm sure!

Oy, what a day.  I played the "holiday party" of a hoity-toity law firm, at a hoity-toity restaurant, where I had to shlep all my equipment (so to speak).  I'm too old for this sort of thing.

BK, Caetano Veloso is definitely an acquired taste and he seems to appeal more to women, in the strange Julio Iglesias kind of way (though Veloso is a better singer, IMHO, and obviously a brilliant composer).  Caetano's sister Maria Bethania sounds like a Brasilian Cher--in fact, considering Caetano's higher register, they could easily do a Sonny & Cher bossa nova bit.  ;)

elmore, I thought the same thing about the band, but I think it's the sound system or something, because in the bridge you can finally hear the synth, and there's definitely a sax on the rideout.
