DR elmore - You're most welcome.  And I'm glad the exterminators were still able to come by today.  As for margaritas and Mexican food...  Sí, sí Señor.

Umm... That was Meredith Willson, DR Ron Pulliam.

Ummmm....I know that, DR JoseSPiano!

But....I equated "euphemism" with "euphonium" and came up with your favorite word....which was, after all, just another euphemism. :o

DR Jose, margaritas and festive Mexican food this weekend?

DR Elmore - your stomach must be feeling better!  Glad to hear the situation is under control.

Anyone ever hear this bedtime wish?

Good night
Sleep tight
Don't let the bed bugs bite.

I've heard it before.  But when I first heard it, I didn't think bed bugs really existed.  I thought they were a euphemism.

I love you all, but I gotta tell ya, after a week of this nonsense, I fail to see the humor in bedbugs or dead bugs.  Maybe it's because of my fatigue, my discomfort on sleeping on an air mattress every night and having to launder everything the next morning, having only two sets of clothing (what I'm wearing and what's waiting for tomorrow), getting flack from neighbors and friends about carrying bugs with me to and from the apartment, or my frustration that this goddamned situation isn't over and I don't know for how long it will be.

I would not wish this situation on my worst enemy, not even the Macbeths.

End of rant.

I haven't even mntioned the cuts and abrasions from moving furniture and cleaning all day or the expenses:
28 new storage boxes for the Miai U items: $140.00
8 loads of laundry on Day 1                          20.25
1 load of laundry per day since @ 4.75          28.50
     1 Dust Buster                                               35.00
1 Hoover cleaner with bag                             60.00
     2 cans bedbug spray                                     20.00
     1 steam iron                                                 12.00
plastic bags in two sizes                                 25.00+
hair dryer to zap mattress                             20.00
     storage rental                                             151.00/month

I suspect I'll be purchasing other pesticides as well in my effort to fight this.

And now I'm turning off the computer and heading uptown to clean again.

re the song credits: I read somewhere that when C>B>Sager was asked to work on a song for Arthur, she called Peter Allen and asked if she could use a line from a song they never finished;"Whe you get caught between the moon and new York City" He said fine, you can have the line, but make sure I'm credited in case the song wins the Oscar; Altho  I would have voted for Randy Newmans RAGTIME(song & scor)that year, there's some fairness in that credit, as 'the moon and new York City is sort of the hook the rest of the song hangs on.

DR Jose-Again, thank you for the good news regarding DR elmore and both of his bug problems.  Most of all, I’m so happy you are there to help him.

DR Elmore-Sending you a BIG HUG!  Shall I also send you a face mask so you won’t breath anymore bug spray?

"Medium" just started its third season three weeks ago...should its new episodes not be counted upon for "sweeps"?

I, for one, ain't gonna be watching something new at 10 p.m. on a Monday night, that's for sure.

Actually, MEDIUM is in its fourth season. The first season was short, of course, since it was a midseason replacement, but there were something like 16 episodes which lloks to be more than we're going to get this year.

I'm all for Chaplin being credited for his "songs".  After all, he wrote "Smile" which was from "Limelight."  That is HIS...just as Carly Simon's song from "Working Girl" was hers.

Wasn't "Smile" the theme for MODERN TIMES, not LIMELIGHT?

In a day or so, I suspect Woody will go into "hermit mode" - the "Torchwood" box set has shipped. 13 Episodes of "Torchwoord", 13 episodes of "Torchwood Declassified" and tons of extras in a 7CD box set - all for under $60.

der Brucer

I think $40 would have been a fairer price. I appreciate all the bonuses, but I'll wait to get this used or on a deeply discounted sale someplace.

Well, I think I'm gonna head out for a bit just to get out of the apartment for a while.  It's also a little warmer today too, so, hopefully, those cross-winds in midtown won't be so bone-chilling.

While I cooked and ate lunch today, I finished HELLO, DOLLY! which I had started watching on Sunday. The Waiters' Gallop is such a magnificent number with Michael Kidd moves all over it.

Then I began season 5 of J.A.G. I remember at the time of the end of the 4th season when Elliott's character left the JAG Corps to return to aviation, there was a huge cry from fans dispondent about his leaving the series. Of course, by the end of episode 3 in the box set I'm looking at, he's left aviation to return to JAG, so all that moaning and groaning by fans wasn't necessary.

The shows have been just fine, but I'm glad to leave the flying stuff behind and get him back full-time into the courtrooms.

I've been very pleased that the episodes are anamorphic widescreen, so they look as good as sDVD can look. And the look of the show is definitely not that soft, grainy, overly processed look of NCIS, thankgoodness. Makes looking at back-to-back episodes so much less exhausting.

Oscar Nominations:  Never, in my lifetime, have I felt so much "nothing" for an awards announcement.

No Nikki Blonsky?  Really?  I mean, REALLY!  What a load of crap!

Concur about Nikki Blonsky! I thought she was terrific! Yes, me, who is lukewarm about so much that others love.
