This should be enough to put Mikey into a coma and keep things quiet the rest of the night.

Our dinner was yummilicious, if I do say so myself.  And there's enough meat, potatoes, carrots, and gravy left over for Richard to make pot roast pie for tomorrow's dinner.

I've never made vegan cupcakes before.  Was there a reason you made vegan ones? (is it mainly for people who might be lactose intolerant or do they taste better?).

My niece and sister became vegetarians a couple of years ago and my niece has recently started transitioning to becoming a vegan.  The recipe came from a book that I got for my sister, from the library.  She tried this recipe and found it very easy to make and it makes cupcakes that are quite good.  Since she likes to help contribute to the fundraisers that we have here (the people that she works with aren't as giving ::)), she offered to make the cupcakes for the spaghetti feed (and I helped!) and even offered a dozen cupcakes to be made when the winner wanted, as a silent auction item.  So, that's the only reason.

I would've just gotten a box of cake mix and a tub of frosting.

:)

How many little vegans gave their lives to make those cupcakes?

Well, each recipe batch made 12 (one dozen) cupcakes and I made six batches, so you do the math.

I believe you're mistaken, DR Ron Pulliam, about DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES jump at the end of last season. I believe it was stated five years then, and last night's episode just picked up where that left off. I didn't get the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES DVD set to review this year, so I can't check it, but I do not remember anything about seven years at all.

I don't see how it can have picked up where that episode left off because Susan has not yet entered an open relationship with Harold Gale's character and in those final moments of the last show of last season, he seemed to be at home in her house

Unless, of course, the edit was misleading.

But also...he was in blue-collar attire last night.  At the end of last season's show he was in a suit when he greeted Susan as she returned from her weekly card game with the girls.

Check out this youtube clip of that segment from the finale.

Also check out the last paragraph of this blow-by-blow recap of last season's finale.  The write does confirm it's five years, but note what it says about Susan and a "new" guy.  That's the  impression I got, too.  I think last year's final two minutes was a composite of things happening this season.

I ate a few Quakes and some fruit.  So, today I've had two poached eggs on an English muffin, a tiny Caesar salad with almost no dressing, two more English muffins with Dee Dee's topping, but this time spread very very thin, which is the trick (so very little topping), an apple and a pear, and some Quakes.  I'm full, I didn't confine myself to only eating once, and given the long jog I would hope this would be an excellent diet day.

Why is that a "curious page"?  It's just the page the LoC started when they received all of Bernstein's papers.

Snow balls

Anatomically correct snow people are the a primary reason people study here...

I read at Playbill Online that Liz Calloway is working on a new solo album.

Good for her!  I love her previous three solo discs.

The only problem is, it's going to be released by PS Classics.  I don't know what it is, but there isn't a single disc they've done that I've heard that I've truly enjoyed.  They just... I dunno... sound flat.  They kinda sorta lack zing.

 :-\

If Bruce produced it, it would be juuuuust right!

RAISING THE BAR SPOILER question

Why is that woman's husband being portrayed as an a**hole for being jealous when he clearly has every reason to be at least concerned?  And the husband at least washes his hair from time to time.

I'll have to look back at bk's notes to see if we were just supposed to post jokes, or if they were supposed to be good or bad jokes.

Bad jokes were requested too, so you're doing just fine!    :D
