I haven't gotten the "too many connections" message, but everything just takes a long time to load. :P

Yes, you have to be DEDICATED to what you want to say to brave the possibilities/probabilities of losing it all because of the little engine that doesn't necessarily feel like it today.

Thanks for the SoM photos, DR JRand.  The kids look like they're having fun.

Called support and got a nice guy on the phone.  He wasn't even aware of the e-mail I'd sent to support, so I forwarded it to him - hopefully he can at least check out the problem and get back to me.  We shall see.

I'm thinking vixmom was summarily disconnected and tossed asunder.

She'll have to pick herself up, dust herself off and start all over again.

Musical director, who is a great martyr, but would have had problems with how the Crucifixion was handled, said there is too much music for the bows and she can't just end it when the bows are done....there will have to be a special rehearsal just for that.

I told her she should just end with "shave and hair cut - two bits" and a rimshot.  She was NOT amused.

DR JRand, sorry you have such an unfelxible MD for your show.  There is nothing worse than someone who doesn't sound like a collaborator.  I liked your solution though, I would have laughed!  :)

Here I am posting again...more than an hour since my last post.

I took a short break and walked partially around Lake Merritt and back again....the lake is more than 3 miles in circumference, but I did just over a mile of walking, round-trip.  The day is glorious, I feel great, and it's closing in on lunch time.

Life can be good.

We're back - problem has been found (the cause of all the stuff that's been happening).  Some weird permissions thing that had to be set to "off" but wasn't.  They've set it to "off" and hopefully all will be well.  And, we didn't have to delete any old posts, so that's a good thing!

What chased everybody away?

I'm not sure Jose is to blame any more.

I'm thinking we need to blame someone else.

I just allerpetted the cats, which consisted of rubbing them down with a damp cloth, followed by rubbing them down with a cloth dampened with allerpet product.  It's supposed to make them less allergenic, and I also thought it would be a good way of removing their dead fur before cleaning the house.

On a scale of one to ten, ten being "keep it coming" and one being "for the love of God lady, please just give us some peace" I'm guessing they would rate this process about a two.

Try wiping them down with distilled water, or dipping them in it.

Well, I actually made it in. I hope the post goes through. I was unable to get on from 11:30 to just now! I did get in for a few minute and when I tried to go from Page 2 to Page 3 I got kicked out. Now that I'm here I don't want to leave.

Jose, you are right about not missing some of the seamier aspects of Times Square and you're right also about it happening outside of Times Square also. In Chelsea places are dropping like flies. If I don't go to 8th Avenue for a week or two I'm almost always surprised by the new store or the old store that has closed up. Speaking of Chinatown in DC, WOW is it different from the Chinatown of a few years ago. We noticed the huge multiplex on our way to dinner after the movie at the E Street Cinema. I haven't been in that neighborhood for a long time. It's quite a change.

Good Afternoon!

Yep... I wasn't able to access the site for about an hour - which happened to coincide with a coaching I was doing here at the apartment, so...  But I was getting the host's error page, so... But it does seem like all is better now.

We had a great meal here

Capital Q

It's a hole in the wall barbecue joint. Great food! And an unlikely place for such good down home victuals.

I was indeed, RLP, cast out like an unexpected watermelon seed.

When I tried to come back I just ended up with pages telling me that this here was an "illegal site" that "could not be accessed from this server".

While I too mourn the passing of Barrymore;s and the like I do appreciate the removal of some of the unsavory elements of Times Square.  Back in the late 70's when my friends and I would come in there were prostitutes and drug dealers openly hawking their wares  in the Times Square  area as soon as the sun went down, and sometimes earlier than that.

One particularly scary moment when my girlfriend and I  (we were both around  16 or 17) had just gottenour tickets at the TKTS booth and were walking to the theatre when a large man, dressed like a character from Shaft, walked between us, linked arms with us, very tightly,  and  starting telling us how  "two fine ladies like yourselves could make some wonderful money working for me"

There are some elements of old Times Square I was happy to see go by the wayside!
