Trust me, he needs them right now!

Poor Dylan.  Bad enough to have to sleep on the fire escape without having to cram himself into the doghouse as well!   ;D

MBarnum you really should see AMOS AND ANDY.

I am going to get a few DVDs of it (actually you can get the entire run of the show from Ebay!) as there are a couple of kid actors in the series that I would love to interview.

Bruce, I’m relieved to see you aren’t sending the email for all the reasons previously stated.

You, and most of us, have had the dynamics of close relationships change many times over the years.  Often it is traumatic yet time heals the wounds.  Declaring the friendship is over won’t really put a stop to the emotional pain you have been dealing and you might have regrets later.  Just let things change naturally over time.

Yes, I'm probably going to take everyone's advice - but I'm beginning to think that if the person hasn't personally paid the site a visit then maybe a friend of the person has.  Who knows?  I'll just forget about everything now and move right along.

Yeah, my crystal ball indicates that he must have meant "must have" since he swiftly changed it to that.

Sounds like a Topic of the Day song cue!

Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,
With good friends, you can't lose,
This could become a habit.

Opportunity knocked once, let's reach out and grab it,
Together we'll nab it.
Ya! We'll hitch-hike, bus, or yellow cab it.

Movin' right along
Foot-loose and fancy free.
Gettin' there is half the fun; come share it with me.

Movin' right along!
We'll learn to share the load.
We don't need a map to keep this show on the road....

Back from a lovely afternoon of reading outside and watching DVDs inside. Couldn't be a more beautiful, quiet day here. Alas that several DRs are having to cope with distractions and annoyances in their lives. I hope things will work themselves out soon for everyone who is need of some contentment.

Au revoir, BoreDetector.  I believe it is you have some sort of resentment, and a bug up their ass about me.  Well, as we like to say around these here parts, you can KISS MY ASS and bloviate this.  Most people know I write the notes late in the evening and yes, shame on me, typos and mistakes of grammar do get through.  Mercy me.  And I'm sure you know all about the third grade, since you're behaving like someone who resides there.

My video viewing began with the WILL & GRACE finale episode. I have to admit, I did find a little more humor and a little more sentiment the second time around. Having a few weeks to digest what I had seen the night it first aired gave me some perspective on it. Still don't think it came anywhere near the brilliance of the series' early years, but it wasn't a total disaster for a final episode. I'll watch it again some day.

Yeah, my crystal ball indicates that he must have meant "must have" since he swiftly changed it to that.  I just find it amusing that a professional writer who is constantly making arrogant, baggagey pronouncements about the current state of writing employed a common third grader error (as opposed to a typo) while publically bloviating about his terrible private friendship in a public forum.  And, let me get this straight, we're not little children here? Oh, okay. La.

Is this for real? Someone please tell me that this is some weird pseudo april fools joke in honor of today's date.

Then I put in STARDUST: The Bette Davis Story and watched it again (after seeing it on TCM during its premiere night.) It is very enjoyable and a nice overview of her career and personal life. That daughter B.D. was/is a piece of work!

I am in no mood to go to work tonight.  It is overcast and chilly outside, so I would much prefer to crawl into bed with the cats and order movies on cable.

Then, I put in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER and first watched the making-of documentary on the disc. Nothing out of the ordinary there, but I liked it OK.

I think it was someone who's written me before privately, since the word "arrogant" was prominent in that e-mail and is prominent here.  I have banned him from the discussion board, so he can go back to reading the notes every day - makes you wonder, doesn't it?  Why anyone would read this site who so clearly has a bug up their butt.  We'll see if he tries to get on under another name, but I can ban as fast as he can register - although, I think he'd have problems doing it from the same computer.

Then, I watched the first hour of THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. It's a beautiful DVD transfer and looks ten thousand times better than the laserdisc. I can now ditch the DVD-R copy I made to tide me over. Actually, I woould never have thought this would see the light of DVD day before some of Bette's other films. Of course, I'm glad it did. It's one of my all-time favorite comedies.

DR MBarnum, I think you will like AMOS & ANDY. I haven't seen them in decades, but I have fond memories of watching them growing up and always found them funny. I've never seen THE BEULAH SHOW.
