It's nearly 9:30 a.m., and I'm hungry for leftovers from last night's supper.

I am staying home from work today cause I feel crappy. It is likely just allergies, so no vibes necessary...perhaps I can catch up on some movie watching....

DR MBarnum - as I was driving to work today, I was trying to think of a not-too-serious illness that would allow me to do exactly the same thing!  Vibes, anyway, for a refreshing day off!

Lunchtime here, DR Ron Pulliam, and I just had leftover macaroni salad from last night's dinner.

Tom just mentioned the passing of the composer of Salad Days, a sweet, small piece that had a great run in and outside of London. I, too, just heard the news. Here is a link to an obit from The Guardian

Funny in this area we have a saying with the word doughnut and it refers to the weather.

In the winter we refer to subzero temperatures as below the doughnut!

I was 10 years old and home sick from school that day. I was sitting on the couch helping fold laundry and the news came on. My sisters arrived home from school soon after that.

I am seeing Hot Feet tonight, for free. Based on everything I've heard it's about the only way I would see it. Thank you Actor's Equity.

Hot Feet

The show has received some of the worst reviews of the season. It's The Red Shoes with the music of Earth, Wind and Fire

The dancers were generally lauded but most everything else was trashed.

Here is

Peter Filichia's

review of the show from Theatermania.

Thank you, Ginny. It was nice to get away. In two weeks I get away again. Anthony will be done July 2 and he's back in the city on July 3rd. Since I have that Monday and Tuesday off we will be getting away for the week.

Oh, and here is the story of the errant and truant package:

On June 8 I ordered four CDs from an Italian label called digitmovies, from their online store.  CDs are supposed to arrive three to five days after they're ordered.  I wrote them last night and got a response that they'd never received the order (payed through paypal).  At the time of the response I thought I'd ordered it later than I actually did - I went through my paypal receipts as far back as 6/10.  Then I placed the order again, paid through paypal again and then, on a whim, went back and looked through paypal again, this time further back.  Well, there it was - the "completed" payment on 6/8.  I wrote them again, very perturbed, and they got back to me right away - they "found" the order, and instantly refunded my money into paypal for today's reorder.  They're shipping tomorrow, which means I won't have it until next week.

Very possibly! I can't recall which one she said it was. And now I am wondering why she would have been home watching a soap opera instead of being at school? Hmmmmm!

It is official.  After 14 years and one month I am leaving  for a new place of employment.

I probably won't be here days anymore therefore I will have to make a greater effort to be here in the evenings!

Elmore informed me via email that Julian Slade, the man who created the wonderful British musical SALAD DAYS, has passed on.

Maybe it's late, but I shall wait, and I will have waited for one good reason

I just happen to have this CD here at work with me.  I'm going to listen to it as soon as I get back from lunch.

Congratulations Missy!

You couldn't have stuck it out for 11 more months and made it to a nice round 15 years  ;)

Who knows, maybe you would have received a clock?

I will be the lucky recipient of a mantle clock in December, two months after my 15 year milestone at the Foundation Center. Although I appreciate the sentiment, I've seen the clock and I would rather have the Fortunoff Gift Certificate. Unfortunately, our human resources department is rather unwilling to bend in this area. Requests have been made every year by 15 year employee recipients and they have been met with a firm NO!!!
