TCB .  Whatever happened with that role you were asked to do? Did you take it or no?

How is your hip healing?

I suppose we all think of our parents as they were when we were young; I think of my late maternal grandmother as an old lady and my mother, who died at an older age than her mother, as young.   So, today, while we were waiting for the release, I was studying my dad, bald and cute as a button.  His false teeth don't fit well because he's lost so much weight so he's removed them till he can get to a dentist.  He looks like elmer Fudd!

When they told him this morning he could go home, I burst into tears.  I thought last Friday he would die there.  On the way back to my brother's, he drove me crazy with his backseat driving.  I was suddenly 16 again and learning to drive.  I was ready to make hiom walk home.

Most luxurious hotel backfired a little.  We stayed at the pricy Dolphin Hotel at Disney World, expecting a fair amount of luxury and service.  But what became clear was that as far as the hotel staff was concerned, this was just their job, and everybody at the hotel was paying exorbitant prices so the treatment by the staff was only so-so.  Still, the hotel was ideally located for what we wanted to do, but definitely a waste of money.

On the other hand, the Polynesian Resort at Disney World, which cost a bit less, was just sumptuous and the height of vacation euphoria, but I gather we got an upgrade on that room, in part because we came at an off-time.

FJL, I am sure that you will find the Motel 6 in Vancouver, Washington to be the most luxurious place you have ever stayed.    ;D

And while I would have happily kept Rodzinski in fur coats and diamond rings...
Also, I would buy faux fur for Rodzinski, not the real thing. :)

Well, with real fur and Diamonds he should travel in this:

Up to date with faux fur and cubic ziconium, he needs:

It turned out that all the pleading the director of THE BAKER'S WIFE was doing was for for me to play the role of the Marquis, not the Baker.  There is nothing wrong with that role; but I have already done the role, so I declined.

Also, this infection has caused such a setback in my recovery that I just couldn't even consider doing a show this summer.

Today is my "Friday"...the next five days are mine to do with as I please.

Sounds great, DR Ron Pulliam!  This year our work schedule does not work in my favor:

Saturday - Work
Sunday - Off
Monday - Work
Tuesday - Off

And Tuesday (the actual 4th), I'm sort of working - walking in a parade with the Miami Valley Association of Volunteer Administrators.  It's the first parade I've been in since 1976, when DR Elmore dressed me in a bustle to portray a damsel in distress in a nineteenth century melodrama on our community theater float.

TPunk, hope the cats are getting along better this afternoon.  I was going to say they are like kids and have occasional spats. But I fear I say that too often.   My secretary hung up the phone after talking to her daughter and looked at me and said "Kids, they're just like cats, you know!" LOL

Back from a lovlier than lovely retirement reception for my former cubicle-mate.  She has been with the library system for well over 30 years and will be greatly missed.

THE POSITIVE SIDE OF LIFE:

  Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip
   around the sun every year.

   How long a minute is
depends on what side of the
   bathroom door you're on.

   Birthdays are good for you;
   the more you have,
   the longer you live.

   Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late
   are often much jollier
than the people who have to wait for them?

Most of us go to our grave
with our music still inside of us.

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day,
how come nothing is free yet?

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
   to only make once.

   Don't cry because it's over;
   smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
   and all are different colors....but
they all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
