Looking forward to the BONES rerun tonight. It's the one with one of my favorite, unheralded actors - Adam Baldwin, and since David Boreanez is one of the stars of this series, it will be a bit of an ANGEL reunion for them. I don't remember much about the episode, so it should be fun to see.

I have a good bit of stuff that I recorded during the early morning hours to watch today, so I doubt I'll get to any DVDs, at least during the afternoon.

I have TOM THUMB as the next in the stack. When I watched it some weeks ago off TCM, I was so charmed to see it again after so long a time that I immediately ordered the DVD knowing it had (surprisingly) been released. Hopefully, the DVD will equal if not surpass the quality of the TCM broadcast (which was very good indeed).

And, wonder of wonders, I had a nice chunk of time on my hands earlier this morning, so I went ahead and cleaned the living room this morning freeing up my late afternoon for reading. Hooray!

The Ides of August are not until next week.  The Ides are the 15th of the month.

Only sometimes, and not August!

Quote
•   Kalends (1st day of the month)
•   Nones (the 7th day in March, May, July, and October; the 5th in the other months)
•   Ides (the 15th day in March, May, July, and October; the 13th in the other months)

As WEL correctly notes, the Ides of any/every month are the 15th.  We knew this from childhood in our family because my Mom's birthday was July 15th, hence our yearly family mantra, "Beware the Ides of July."   ;D

Maybe true but kind of weird in any case department:   According to Frances Farmer's nephew, A Man Called Horse is based upon a real incident involving an ancestor of the Farmer clan.  How this came up in our everyday conversation, I have not a clue, but it did.   ;D

Dessert island

Is that a children's after-dinner ride at Disney World or a postprandial buffet on a Cruise Line?

I'm up, I'm up.  WEL was here!

I'd add Singin' In The Rain, and Fellini's The White Sheik to my list, which makes six, I think.
