I, too, have returned from the Farmer's Market, where new dear reader Jeanne and I went.  I had a fried catfish po' boy (only fair, unfortunately), and she had a crepe (which she professed to enjoy).

No mail today.  Must write a bit now, and then at about six-thirty I'll brave the freeway and drive to David's birthday partay.

In other news...

I'll be heading back down to DC in a few hours, so that I can be back for the second day of rehearsal for Cabaret tomorrow.  Today, however, was spent in Finding Nemo land.  And I had a wonderful time.  A truly wonderful time.

I'll spare you all the gushy details, but, in short, today was one of those days that just made it all worth it.  Great material.  Great process.  Great people.  I didn't want it to end.  I walked out of the rehearsal studios with a big smile on my face, and practically on the verge of tears.  Nothing like a bit of validation to let you know that everything you've been doing over the past couple of years has not been for nothing.

Hi all.  What a to do when I signed off this morning.  I got off the bus at my usual stop by the Federal Courthouse.  There were men with machine guns (I kid you not!), cops and cars everywhere and a helicopter over head.

I found out later that they are trying the case of a big drug lord and all the hardware was for one of the wittnesses.  Scary!

I try to get off the bus seveal stops early so I can get some exersize in.  I figure by walking the fiv extra blocks and taking the stairs when I make the mail run at 3:30 counts for a little bit of it.

I didn't know about Vixmom's new job.  My bad for being E & T.  I'm sure I've missed other things as well but I'm trying to do better.

I just love this new little lap top.  It's a Sony Vaio TX750P.  It so small it fits in my purse and only weighs 2 pounds.  You can't beat the battery life either.  Instead of a mere 45 minutes (like I had with the Gateway) this one has 4 hours.

I figured since I could make the October trip, I was owed something nice.  When I do make the next trip I'll have a wonderful small laptop and a great digital camera!

Gotta run--laters all!

Instead of a burial plot, I think I'd rather have myself cremated.  The question then would be, what to do with my ashes.  Put 'em in a bag, to use as a counterweight at a theater?  Use 'em to line a baseball field?  The options boggle the mind.

Well, I need to finish packing up for my trip back down to DC.  I'm not exactly sure what my internet connection possibilities are down in my company housing, so I may only be able to post from the theatre's green room.  So if I'm a little E&T over the next day or two...

After calling the CI 3 or 4 times and having them first not have a reservation for me, sending the confirmation email to them and now hearing they will investigate, I decided to bite the bullet and get a room at the Milford Plaza.  It's more, but I can get 2 beds so it will be a lot more comfortable for my nephew and I

You're scarin' me, DR Cillaliz!  Maybe I better check on our reservation at the CI.  Assuming it is still in place, I have a feeling it might be our last stay there, because they're pricing themselves 'way out of our range.

Well, I did something stupid today. I was taking my DH's car to be repaired. They had some trouble getting it to start during their vacation last month. So stupidly I stopped at Starbuck's for a cup of coffee to enjoy while it was being repaired. And now the car won't start. I walked home from Starbucks, then drove my car back twice to try to get it started again. Nothing.

TOD:

To Kill A Mockingbird
Lawrence of Arabia
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (one selection)
All About Eve
The Bishop's Wife
The Wizard of Oz
The Sound of Music
Out of Africa
Field of Dreams
Cabaret

As terribly fond of all 10 of the above, I'm afraid one is going to have to give way for Woody Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters."  And that one film may be "Field of Dreams".

You must have ordered decaf.

I simply cannot start on decaf.

Next time, order regular.

No, I don't think that was it; I ordered the strong coffee, then the gentleman asked if I'd ever tried espresso, which I had not. So he gave me a complimentary espresso. I am still bouncing.

Maybe I should have ordered decaf.

Don't mean to scare you, but I thought I should warn you to check.  She kept telling me I wasn't in her system even though I had my confirmation.  I forwarded her the email and she was going to investigate. I still haven't heard back from her.   I'm going to check online again and see if my reservation has been changed.   She did tell me if you cut a day off the end of your stay it doesn't effect your rate, but if you cut a day off the beginning it does.

Have written a couple of pages (close to three) - as I've said before, the Final Draft play program makes every page endless - it takes forever to finish a page.

Here's the recipe. Mom said to tell you there are lots of brands of cake mixes, but Pillsbury seems to work the best.

Chocolate Pie
1 Pillsbury Devil's Food cake mix
1 can Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Frosting
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 gal vanilla ice cream (I think it would tast good with any flavor)

Mix 3/4 cup frosting, water, oil and cake mix.
Put in 2- 9 inch pie pans (this will form the crust)
bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes
cool
Soften ice cream. Spread over cool crust.  Freeze hard.
Spread remainder of fudge over the top
Freeze.....enjoy
