Well, The Last Starfighter has had its final staged reading and it went well - for my money, the best of the three shows was today's first performance, but tonight's was a close second.  My voice was not quite as strong as this morning but I got through it okay with only one little phlegmball in the first number.

And now I can talk as much as I damn well please!  I'm back at the hotel briefly (and I ate a donut - sue me - it was my treat to myself) - I've already packed up most of my stuff and shall now be on my way to Joe Allen where we shall have lots of food and merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.  At tonight's performance we had vixmon and the delightfully delightful vixter, and Antonia and Rodzinski.  Also there was former dear reader Noel and occasional dear reader and Mrs. Noel, Joy.

Oh, the fun of watching Doctor Who!

Der Brucer decided to record his shows, and watch the season opener with me.  Since I was getting dinner on the table, I wasn't able to concentrate on some of what was happening during the first part of the show as much as I would have liked, but the show was fun and the food tasty.

Tennant somehow reminded me of Martin Short, only taller.  And smarter.  And sexier.  He'll make a good Doctor.

Adding to the fun was spotting Daniel Evans in the cast, as astroscientist Danny Llewellyn.  And yes, everyone here should know who Daniel Evans is.  He's the George on the London Cast Recording of Sunday In the Park with George.  This ep of DW was filmed in the summer of 2005, just before Evans took on playing George.  Too bad the character of Llewellyn was killed, but that happens a lot in DW.

Zoe Wanmaker was in one of the eppies also...

Great show. I have mixed opinions on Tennant. I prefered Eccleston.

I sometimes watch the end credits, also.  But, if you had a region-code free DVD player, you could get the entire second series on November 20th...of course, it would cost almost $100 American. ::)

SPOILER ALERT!! :

The entire show has already been shown in England.  So, if you don't want any possible clew as to what might happen at the end of the second series, DON'T read the Amazon.co.uk review/synopsis.  You might not like it. :-\

I know I dont but I do really want to see episode three.

We got home from my mother-in-law's second 90th birthday party just as the second quarter was starting in the Michigan/Minnesota game.  The party was just what she wanted and my sisters-in-law and nieces and I are glad it's over.

I imaging the partay at Joe Allen is still going strong.  Congratulations to BK, DR FJL, Skip and the entire Starfighter company on their run.

Half-time's about over - gotta get back in the game, Coach!

Here's something I did recently. For those who want to hear the sound of TPunk singing and Rodzinski's sad attempt at rap, check out the youtube link below.

The background: a marketing company that a fellow I know works for (called Maloney and Fox) was having a contest to take their jingle and re-do it and shoot a video for it and upload to youtube. So I figured it was worth a shot. I think it is certainly as good as the other entries I saw on there, so we shall see!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOC41PFnj_Q

That was fun, and interesting. :)

I felt envious that I wasn't in NY with everyone at Joe Allen's so I dialed Rodzinski's cell phone so that I could feel like I was there with them all..alas, his phone was turned off and I was left on the outs  :-\    How very sad.

Yes, DR RODZINSKI thanks!  We had a splendiferous Grand Reopening, staying open and extra 30 minutes to handle the crowd, and I made over $300 in commissions today....so I guess it was worth going to work!

I can well imagine the hilarity at Mr Joe Allen's right now - hopefully cameras are present, and we with our noses pressed to the glass can see images of what we are missing.

I am mortified, horrified, and ossified that I did not mention as TOD:

Fred & Ginger - Pick Yourself Up....a number that brings tears of joy.

And I will say that I imagine DR's who choose the "barn raising" scene are including the Challlenge Dance that precedes said carpentry....  If I had to choose between the two, I would take the challenge dance!

Has anyone heard from DR Tomovoz?  Weren't he and Colin due in the Seattle area this weekend?

I doubt it.  He is leaving Seattle on the 10th to go to Portland.

Joe is flying back from St. Croix today.  He extended his stay for three days, he liked it so much!  His flight gets in at JFK at 18:55, and I'll be there with bells on.   :D

I'm very glad he had such a wonderful time, he truly deserved one.

We'll miss you, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing in postponing your trip.

I spent some time at the office.  So, tomorrow I'm hoping to get cracking on laundry and cleaning up the house so I can spend a little time at our local renaissance fest

I've told everyone you will be in LA on Dec. 8!  The partay at Joe Allen's was great fun.  It was a huge turnout and a lot of dish, dishcussion, and Diet Coke.  Kevin Spirtas joined us, and a lovely gentleman he is.  Skip was feeling his  lyrics, which I referred to as "outrageous" last night,  were praised more than his music, so I will go on record as saying both music and lyrics were totally outrageous.  And tuneful.  And a lot of fun.

What is it with these PBS people programming Lawrence Welk?  Is it a confusion of kitsch and art?  And they wonder why I won't contribute.

Back from our soiree and a grand one it was.  What a treat to see dear readers Ben, Antonia (looking beautiful, as always), Rodzinski, vixmom and the vixter, FJL and Skip, elmore, Mr. Kevin Spirtas, and Georga Osborne from the Starfighter cast (we bonded).  We ate wonderful food (I had something new - a pasta with sausage dish that was quite yummilicious, we had desserts, and we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more, we laughed again.

I'm very pleased that FJL and Skip asked me to be part of it, and their graciousness was large and therefore the entire experience was a lovely one.  Plus, I really liked the cast and bonded with several of them.  Some I would work with anytime - like Joe Kolinski, who is just a solid pro, and Maureen Silliman, who is warm and wonderful, with a sweet voice.  And Georga is a hoot.  The director, David Bennett, was also very nice and said the right things, which is a plus for a director.   I enjoyed my role and think I was able to bring a little something different to the table, both vocally and acting-wise.
