My back has felt better as they day has gone by. Sparing it the strain of my morning workout was a wise decision.

But the kitchen floor is yet to come!

It's really very pleasant out here. It was a little warm actually as I was running my errands, but now, I can feel the cold front moving into the area. The air is getting crisper, and I'm already anticipating it for tomorrow.

I watched three OFFICE episodes from the DVD set to finish off the second disc in the set. The episodes were among the best of last season: the Christmas episode (in which Secret Santa evolved into a Chinese Swap party because Michael got stuck with a pot holder), the "Booze Cruise" where Pam and Roy finally announced their wedding date, and "The Injury" where Michael burned his foot on a George Foreman grill and spent the day as an whining invalid.

All hysterical.

Then I watched last night's episode of THE OFFICE where Dwight took Ryan on his first sales venture. Except it was more like a fraternity initiation that Ryan quickly soured on. Also, Jim and Pam talked for the first time this season, and it was so sweet and wonderful, and over much too quickly.

SUPERNATURAL had a somewhat scary episode involving a zombie out for revenge. Effective but not the scariest one they've ever done.

My Warners boxed set of Movie Masterpieces didn't come today, so I have THE MALTESE FALCON cued up in the player for viewing when I go back down.

All the reviews I've read have raved about how much better this transfer is from the original DVD release, but though I haven't watched that one in a long time, I was very favorably impressed with it. I will have to do some comparisons after I watch the movie tonight.

Great link about Project Runway, Elmore. Candid stuff. Early on in the show, I liked Vincent. He seemed like a nut, but I thought he was a character. But it became clear that first, he had no talent to back up his ideas, and second, he was out of his mind in an ugly way.

Keith also seems out of touch with reality, in addition to being a cheater.

The EW write-up sums up the finale perfectly. Though it may be a flaw in the show to say that though I thought in the last two seasons Chloe and Jeffrey were the best choices at the end, the ultimate feeling is quite anti-climactic.

Ratings news:

PROJECT RUNWAY finale scored the biggest ratings in its history and in the history of Bravo on WEdnesday night. 5.4 million viewers tuned in far outranking any other cable channel in that hour of prime time.

Last night, UGLY BETTY held its ratings up to its seasonal levels, and GREY'S ANATOMY once again finished ahead of CSI in total viewers and in the age 18-49 category (by a much wider margin than the last few weeks).

While looking for a work-related (honest!) article in last weekend's Wall Street Journal, I came across

Broadway's Reality Check

about NBC's upcoming reality show whose viewers will cast the leads in the revival of Grease.

I see that A SUMMER PLACE and MIRACLE IN THE RAIN are being released by Warners in February 2007. I'm sure that will make fans of those films very happy.

Has anyone who has Tivo noticed that it almost isn't worth watching "live" tv any more?  I find it much easier to Tivo what I want to see and fast forward through the commercials.  It sure saves some time!

On Bosses day they passed a card around that told the section manager we liked him so much that we would work nights and weekends for him.  I wrote on the card that when I get up--it's dark so there is my night and if I work one minute past my quiting time on Friday that's part of my weekend and I'm not going to give up any more time.  :)

exceedingly strange inclement weather hit the big apple today during my stroll to the Metropolitan Museum. I'm glad that I had a heavier coat than I normally would have had, for it kept me from getting chilled to the bone. . .
There is a sublime exhibit going on at the Met right now, which I simply had to see: a collection containing works by Renoir, Cezanne, Gaugin and van Gogh to name but a few. I was also quite taken with the medieval armor & artifacts as well as a few pieces of "modern art."  I have a chair at home exactly like one on exhibit, so, I guess I am now officially a collector.   :-\

Danise, this may sound clueless on my part, but was that card to the boss meant to be a joke to begin with?
