You will note that I still have the same haircut.

And even better, your head grew into your ears.

Sounds like Bob Mackie dressing Carol Burnett as "Mommie Dearest".

When I was at the Animal Murderer's Warehouse last month, I saw some great togs for a costume if I wanted to dress up as the forest floor. Unfortunately it would have set me back over $100. Not worth it!

You "had lots of Mexican families make us welcome in their homes"?  How brutal!  How forceful!  I'm certain, had you simply asked, they would have done so without coersion!  (Of course, there's always that awkward language barrier thing.  Not to be confused with an awkward language barrio thing, which is quite different.)

Huh?   ???

How about wearing a "Bush Budget" top hat and a skirt of acoustic tiles and go as "National Debt Ceiling"

I'm not "getting" it either, S. Woody - all I'm GETTING is the tone, which I don't care for and would like to stop.  It's great that we all have our personalities and weirdnesses, but I've noticed of late that it's getting a little acidic in here - we don't do that, although it's unavoidable at times.

"...Mexican familes MAKE us welcome..."

der Brucer (official HHW Woody interpreter)

Don't feel alone; Sir Walter Scott set the precedent with:
Quote
“Do you not think,” said the lady to Martin, still clasping her child to her bosom and making it clear from what motives she desired the refuge, “that Dame Glendinning will make us welcome?”

Does anyone know whether the BARBER OF SEVILLE which Bartlett Sher (the director of LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA) is directing at the Met is set to be televised?  I've been googling and can't find any info on this.

But you could have Greg go along with a mini-boom box playing Philip's creepy score from The Illusionist!

It was great seeing Brian Kerwin with Laurie Metcalf on "Desperate Housewives" last night.

They worked well together on "Roseanne," so it's interesting to see them these many years later as a married couple, even if their situation is going to be dire.

I know Brian Kerwin!  I had no idea he was on ROSEANNE?  I remember my friend Danny Stone amd Michel O'Keefe, I think.

DR FJL, I never know what's being broadcast until I see the info in OPERA NEWS.  I have heard nothing about a broadcast of this production, but it would be nice: it's starring Mr Juan Diego Florez, the best bel canto tenor and the most photogenic tenor working at the moment.  The Met's pushing his photo in all the ads.

And good news: I now have a working nonregional DVD player that operates!  Who'da thunk it?

DR ELMORE - Brian K played a swain and live-in lover of Jackie who turned out to be beating her.  Dan Connor went over for a visit and set him straight with a threat of like for like....and after six episodes or so, he was on his way.  But he was very good.  And Laurie Metcalf - trying the hide the secret that she was a battered wife - was excellent as always.

I think I have one of Juan's CD's....well not one of HIS cd's, but one of the CD's he sings on.

MR BK - anxious friends of Alice Ripley are abuzz here in Indiana about the upcoming CD.  So I know one Christmas present that will please!
