STUDIO 60 featured the same dynamic writing filled with wit and sass, but this show is so not appealing to the masses. With the sketch about Jesus as head of Standards & Practices, I sat there thinking to myself how many average Joes out there who might be watching STUDIO 60 either know or care about STandards & Practices.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tom Jeter didn't come out as gay in next week's installment, but that's just a hunch.

Regardless, I enjoyed the episode and look forward to seeing the concluding half, but I don't think STUDIO 60 has the sex appeal or the canny mix of comedy and drama on everyday themes that will make for a bonafide hit for NBC.

It's past midnight here, so I'm off to bed.

Good night!

Thanks, Cilla.

The score to APPLAUSE has been running through my head since Halloween.

Have i already told the story about the friend who worked at North Shore Music Theatre years ago and swore that three different people called up and asked for tickets to see Dorothy collins in APPLESAUCE.

My sister played Margo in college.  But Alive runs through my mind from time to time. It sort of looks like Applesauce if you look quickly...

I think Arnold's camp knows not to call here....not after the last time!   :D

Speaking as one who did phone lists for a living...no matter how nasty you were, you'll be on the next list. And people who write or call and ask not to be contacted again are generally ignored. The mass mailing and phone lists are independently generated by venders from registrar files - the campaign simply sets the criteria. The targetted mailing/phoning done by the individual campaign, however, uses tags to flag "do not mail/call".

I am glad that I work at night and I dont get any calls.... That can be a blessing...

Lucky for you I don't work ND elections. My campaigns do early-in-the-campaign phoning to validate phone numbers and to determine best times to call.

Cat poo turned into $50 cuppa

SO much for Queensland not being cultured.

The state now boasts the nation's most expensive cup of coffee, and it comes courtesy of the digestive tract of a cat-like creature from the jungles of Indonesia.

The rare Kopi Luwak coffee brew will soon be on the menu at Herveys Range Heritage Tea Rooms, about 40 minutes west of Townsville – for $50 a cup.

The beans for the exclusive brew are retrieved from the droppings of the luwak, a cat-like member of the civet family which is found in Indonesia's Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi.

Luwaks like eating ripe coffee cherries, but are apparently particular about which ones they choose - seeking out only the most luscious.

The inner bean is not digested, meaning they can be retrieved from the luwak poo.

The beans are then washed and given only a light roast so as to not destroy the complex flavours which develop through the whole process – and then sold for up to $1250 per kg.

Fans of the brew say the luwak's stomach enzymes break down proteins in the beans, making a smoother brew with no bitterness.

Dutch coffee connoisseur Bob Dam has described the coffee as having a fine chocolate aroma which "tastes delicious at the back of the throat".

Heritage Tea Rooms owner Allan Sharpe reckons the coffee beans are rarer than diamonds.

"We've spoken to our import company and to our knowledge we are the only cafe in Australia selling this coffee," he said.
