Happy Birthday to All the Various and Sundried Birthday Boys!

*Not that you all are necessarily "various and sundried"... although, BK's brother... hmm....

Many Happy Returns!  -And preferably from the IRS!  ;)

Good morning!

Well, it's the afternoon now...at least here in Fairfax, VA...  And it's a beautiful afternoon too!  The temp is in the low 60s!  Unfortunately, it looks like we may be having a rainy Christmas Eve, ah, well... It's all good.

Favorite Christmas memory.... hmm...  Nothing in particular...  However,  I still am amazed at how my parents managed to hide gifts from us when we were younger.  I mean, in a house with four young boys, there's bound to be some "reconnaissance" missions going on during the holiday season.  They would also manage to put stuff into our stockings - we would go to midnight mass - nothing in our stockings when we left, but when we got back... wow!

And there was the one Christmas when I was working in Ft. Myers, FL, and my ex, Steve, came down for the holidays.  The theatre was able to arrange a nice room for us at one of the small resorts on Sanibel Island.  We ended up being only one of four or five people staying there at that time.  The place even had it's own private beach.  It was very nice.  *And I'll be having Christmas Eve lunch with Steve tomorrow.  :)

Oh... and I guess I still get a little "nostalgic" when I go to church with my family at Christmas - which usually turns out to be one of the few times I go to church at all throughout the year.  The music.  The smell of incense.  The altar decorations.  Something very familiar and comforting about it all.  And the music portion of the service is always very well done - and moving.  -Although, I still find it a little weird having Midnight Mass at 10:00pm now.  -It was moved earlier for safety reasons (so that people - mainly the elderly - did not have to drive at 1:30am) - but it does get out very close to midnight, so...

OK - That's my morning ramble...  I need to wrap presents!

I don't remember a lot of really specific Christmas memories, but I always seem to have nice Christmases with my family.  Very tranquil, as I suppose it should be.

YES! YES!! YES!!!

*Oh, a When Harry Met Sally reference...
-And what's this "stuff" about a stage version being produced in London with Luke Perry?

-Glad to hear that the cookies are going over so well.  Truly one of my favorite recipes.  I have another variation I try every now and then, and I'll see about sending you a batch of those ones too sometime.

Oh, so since I'm a "Sr. Member" now does this mean I can sit at the Big Table?  Or does this just mean I get my 10% discount at Gelson's?  ;)

-That vanity posting was kind of fun... So how many posts until I reach HHW God?

hmmm...

If I average 50 and hour... Then I could achieve HHW God status before I head into the show tonight!

-Don't worry... I really do need to wrap some presents... and make another trip to the - hopefully non-busy like it was yesterday afternoon - Post Office.

Until later...

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]Happy Birthday Gentleman![/move]

Growing up we spent every Christmas day with our Grandparents. As kids, me and my sister hated going over there because it took us away from all of our new toys.  Now that I'm an adult, and they are both long gone, I actual miss spending Christmas day there. Its amazing how perception changes as you age.

Sending GOOD VIBES to BK so he stays well! ;)

Happy Birthday to DRs Craig and WFO! (if i wish BK's brother a happy birthday will he read this?)

DR Jose mentioned "bagging gifts" which is what I usually do. OMG, it is so much easier than wrapping! I have never wrapped as many gifts (as I have this year).  Crazy. I not only wrapped my own, but also my sisters, my moms and my aunts (I think I will be the only one getting bagged gifts this year :)

Since I celebrate Channukah (even though my uncle and sister's husband celebrate Christmas, so we sort of do too), I have already gotten some of my gifts.

It's interesting celebrating both holidays, because we do my aunt's tree every year. And I made this tiny little $1 store tree pretty with ornaments (so I have it in the living room). It is so cute, I had to keep it.

I actually know all my gifts (i think).  Since I picked them all myself!

I am the easiest person to shop for, since I always jot down things i need or want.

Btw, my wicked cd finally shipped today, yeah! So assuming there is mail here tomorrow, I will have it then. Double yeah.

It's funny how the mind works.  I felt great this morning, but the minute I heard my editor was sick I started thinking, "Oh, well maybe I'm sick."  So, suddenly I'm all phlegmy (attributable to the rain, it's how my sinuses react to rain) - well, I'm NOT sick and I shall not BE sick.  No, I shall laugh and laugh.

Hey MR BK - you should be impressed with your true love sending you all those gifts!
By the time you get them all, said true love will have spent $16,885.28 - an increase of 16% over last year!

That is indeed True Love!

DR JAY - that is so funny....I thought of the same MOMMIE DEAREST scene and remark!  As Jennifer Coolidge says in A MIGHTY WIND:  "It's like we have one brain between us!"

Good vibes for Jennifer!

Hey I finally did the vibes like DR Maya said to do them!  Yeah for me :)

Btw, I'd love to hear lists of what people have gotten for gifts (what they've received and what they will give).

I can start since I picked my own gifts :)

One thing I chose which I love is a huge body pillow. Has anyone tried these? There are ones that are really fluffy soft and I just love mine!

And it was only $7 (it was marked 12.99, on sale, but scanned for $7). Yeah!

Hey has anyone else started planning their annual Boxing Day outing yet?

I'm not sure if there are major sales in the US. But in Canada (in Montreal at least) the stores have HUGE sales (it's the biggest shopping day of the year).

The stores only open at 1pm (which sucks). But I cannot wait.  Calendars 50% off. Love that. But everything is on sale. Love that too.

Well, I hopped in on a good day because I can wish everyone needed a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. HB to Mr. BK's older brother, the ACTUAL CRAIG and the ACTUAL WILLIAM F. ORR.

One of our favorites memories will have to wait until next year. It will be our Christmas in London. It's 5 minutes to 7 at night here in London (around 5 to 2 in the U.S. Eastern time) and we will be going out for dinner w/friends in about a half hour. We took part in a small party at our flat with the other residents and the staff of the apartment complex after we returned from Westminster Abby and Buckingham Palace. We are going to try and see the matinee performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tomorrow and then a quiet Christmas day awaits us.

Again, happy day to those celebrants and I'll drop in again when I get the chance.

BK....so you will not get sick, something to make you feel better.  The lovely wife, Julieanne, could not sleep last night, so she stayed up and finished KRITZERLAND.   She said she cried at the part about which you know.  She will tell you more anon, I suspect, at Christmas Eve, provided, of course, you are not sick and cancelled.
