Why is this soooo expensive, the Kobi beef, imported pears and/or the oie gras?

Yes, yes, and yes!

Kobe Beef $40
Foie Gras $17.00
Korean Pear $4.00
Portobello Mushroom $3.00

Bun, Fries, Labor, Overhead...a bargain!

DR MBARNUM sent me copies of the Albert Glasser tapes, and they are indeed intriguing.

TOD con't:

GOLDEN RAINBOW
MAN WITH A LOAD OF MISCHIEF

And a musical about politics, I don't have the album in front of me, but its songs included:
Get Out the Vote
and
Hurrah Hurrah the Country's Risin' for Henry Clay & Freylinghysen.

Evening all.  I just had to stop in and say, "Happy Birthday!" to not one but two (count'em TWO) very dear readers, PennyO and Dan-The-Man!!!  Hurrah!

I'm sorry that it's so late in the day but I had to drive into work today and I had something very unexpected happen when I got home from work.

I was late because I had to make an hour of time up from this morning.

The dogs were starving so I got the first dish down for Sheena.  I went back to get the next dish for Bear and in that time they had a fight.  The next thing I knew, poor Bear had a rip in his ear.  I called the vet right away and even though they were about to close, they told me to bring him in right away.

He has to have surgery on his ear.  I'm scared to death because of his age and size.  I've been warned he might not make it.

I'm going to be on pins and needles until I hear something tomorrow.

Please send some HHW vibes for my Old man.  I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't make it.

I don't blame Sheena.  Accidents happen and I don't think she meant to hurt Bear.

Well, here comes winter. Tomorrow night late we are going to get freezing rain that will turn to rain on Wednesday then will turn to freezing rain and then to snow.  Yuck!  I'm not going anywhere until Sunday, so I'll just bring home a bag of work and all will be well.  I love the snow, the ice I can live without

I watched the rest of the episodes on the POLICE SQUAD DVD. They're all hilarious. The producers were smart enough to have some running jokes going from show to show and to embellish them when they started to wear out their welcomes.

DVD affords us the opportunity to notice little details: writing on posters that's ridiculous and the face of a clock in the police station with the numbers in the wrong places.

I'm not sure the episodes are in the order they were shot or shown on ABC. One running gag at the end of each show summarizes the crooks that they've sent to "Statesville Prison," and in the third episode on the disc, the list includes the names of all the crooks in the remaining three episodes plus the first three on the disc.

At any rate, if you're a fan of AIRPLANE! and want to see that comedy motif applied to Quinn Martin style police procedurals (without the occasional dead spots that are in the three NAKED GUN movies), POLICE SQUAD is for you.

DR Danise---

This may sound lame, but when I had pet troubles and couldn't sleep, I visited a chat room at  Petloss.com
http://www.petloss.com/newchat.htm
The people there are very compassionate. The new people there have recently lost pets or have ill or injured pets. The people with a "wolf" suffix to their names (I am "Artywolf") are veterans of the site who are there to offer support, advice and words of comfort. They were a big help to me when I my ancient kitty was ailing and it was late but I wanted to talk to someone. Just thought I'd share that with you...didn't mean to put it on the board but your inbox was full and I'm about to get on my way home from work.

I looked at all the special features on the POLICE SQUAD disc as well. There's a gag reel that's typical of the kind of verbal flubs that are so common on shows where everyone must talk and talk and talk (often gibberish but keeping a straight face).

The interview with Leslie Nielsen was OK, but his memory for details was spotty. Of course, it HAS been over 20 years ago that he did these six episodes.

I listened to one commentary (of the pilot), but it wasn't very enlightening and stopped about about 10 minutes. Mainly they sat around laughing at their creation without providing much background. Only an occasional bit of info would come out but would get generally lost in the guffaws of the surrounding members of the team.

I did watch the BONES rerun tonight, a repeat of the season opener where the new boss of the Jerrsonian was introduced. The case involving a suspected murder of a senator was adequate but no more. The interplay between the characters was much more important in this episode than the mystery this week.

And the CSI: MIAMI rerun was probably this season's best show thus far involving the murder of a cop who was undercover in a biker gang. My favorite character on the show, Calleigh, was the focus of this episode, and I always enjoy the episodes where she's in the spotlight.

I watched the NBC game show IDENTITY.  It was sort of interesting. Not a very well thought out game. But quite fun to play along with.

Then i watched what I guess was the finale of THE CLOSER. Gosh i can't believe that we caught up to you guys so fast.
