Interesting note.  We had HEROES on here last night (taped it).

I won't give any spoilers. Just a teaser.

Toby McGuire would probably enjoy the Chardonnay and the brioche, which I had just buttered for him! (You have such an evil mind!).

I was wondering what the butter was for.

Is 5500 a milestone, or is that stretching it to call it a milestone?

Waiting for the story on Jesus remains....wonder if they'll bury them next to Anna Nicole?  Sorry no offense intended, it's just the way the news covers various stories, I'm expecting to hear that

I've finished just under three pages - that makes me happy - may go for another page or so later, but for now, I'm taking a break.  In twenty-five minutes I must do the big trade and pick up lots and lots of new DVDs.

RE: GREASE

I finished watching the GREASE show that I had started last night.

Laura did a sizzling rendition of "Fever" with the guys that was unquestionably the best number of the evening.

I couldn't argue with Kevin being let go. I was very surprised with the choice for the girl they let go; I would have gone the other way, and this was proven almost immediately when she did a terrible song and dance, easily the weakest of the night. I feel sure she'll be dropped next week.

I also thought laura's number was terrific. My favorite.

I was not surprised they let kevin go. He had a nice voice, but little personality.
I was not that surprised they let kate go.

But let me say one thing i did not mention earlier.

I hate the way they did the show last night.  They had all this extra time to focus just on the women. And they implied they would show us some acting.

What they showed totally sucked.  They keep saving kathleen because she is apparently a wonderful actress. Well how the heck are we supposed to know this. We never get to actually see any acting scenes.

I really can't believe they are expecting people to vote without seeing the acting. It's not right. It's down right stupid.

That said, i like all of the dannys who are left (although i'm not that crazy about derek).

But i'm not liking the sandys. In the opening number i thought ashley was great. But her song was just average. And she has been just average for me every single week.

Allie (who i don't like) was good last night. It was the best i've seen her. But i still don't think she should be sandy.

So that basically only leaves laura for me. I do like kathleen, but she has been weak on a number of her songs.

But who do we pair laura with? How would anyone know? We've seen one duet. And one pre-acting bit.

Oh and i don't think allie and max are a couple. They said that they sort of flirted. But then she went on to say he wasn't even her favorite danny. Plus kathleen marshall said they had no chemistry!

I'm seriously thinking about telling my boss about my plans when he visits on Wednesday.  I need to leave there in good graces to make sure I get the court appointments I'm going to need when I start out  I don't see a down side to it and it will be a lot easier to plan things when I don't have to keep the fact I'm doing it a secret. Am I making a mistake?

Just came across the following at another site -

Quote
The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).
In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c". Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20 per sent shorter.
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.
By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by " v".
During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

DR Elmore, I continue to be surprised and delighted by the Brain orchestrations. I was noticing today in the Brain's song that there were several little phrases that were quoted from "If I Only Had a Brain". I love finding little nuggets like that!

Thank you, dear!  I was very proud of sneaking that quote in.  As I was working on the number, I kept thinking, "what brain songs are there?"

I had an exciting adventure trapping the feral cats last night on the property bordering the church and the local drinking club -- I mean service club.

One gentleman did not like the explanation I gave him about trapping them, getting them spayed/neutered, then bringing them back. He tried to convince me to leave. With a loaded rifle. I left.

Goodness!!!  Was it his property?  Were you alone?

My favorite orchestration for The Brain remains the title song - it makes me smile every time I hear it - it's perfection.

Coffee drinkers in Arizona watch for the openings ofThe Human Bean drive- thru coffee yet. Check this out……..http://thehumanbean.com/News.asp?NewsID=12

The Human Bean originated in Ashland and, according to the coffee drinkers in my family, it is excellent.  The franchise has also expanded to Colorado, N. Carolina, California & Idaho, so far.

Good Evening!

Back from a lovely walk around midtown.  I ended up meeting with my friend, Geff, and I ended up playing tour guide.  He's actually lived in NYC on and off since the early 90's, but he's usually lived and worked in the East Village and the Bronx, so midtown was sort of new territory for him.

We started at the Time-Warner Center, checked out the view of Central Park from the fourth floor, then spent a good amount of time in Williams-Sonoma drooling over all the new Spring merchandise that was being put out.  Ahh...

Then it was over to The Apple Store, Takashimaya (we did afternoon tea downstairs in the Tea Box), then just kind of wandered until he needed to head back downtown.

All in all a very nice way to spend the afternoon.  And the rain held off too.  Sort of drizzly, but it was a very light drizzle.
