I hope you all noticed the leopard-spotted fainting couch in DR MusiGuy's living room in the photos last night.

Yes, duly noted. Appropriately positioned for guests overwhelmed by the new home theatre system.

If new DR SINGDAW is attempting to catch up on all the posts from Oscar night, good luck!

Hey, that film came out while I was in college!

Jesus Christ using Just For Men haircoloring!  What a concept!

Isn't Ted Neely by now around three times the age of Jesus when he was executed?

Hello, there, all-  And thanks for the welcome!

I've been lurking since I discovered you around the time of the Oscar [Wilde] bash...what a great community you've developed here!

I used to post frequently over at Sondheim.com, some years back, and recognize S. Woody from there.

I was wondering if any of you have had a chance to sample the new recording of Flaherty's "Loving Repeating"?  What with all the quick wit and worldplay here [led by the inestimable BK], I would think it would be a natural for many of you.  I enjoyed the score, at any rate, although I guess Gertrude Stein is an acquired taste.

In any case, best regards to all-

Have you purchased THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X yet, SINGDAW? We expect a review (just kidding).

Seriously, happy to have you among us. Now tell us about yourself, pls.

I'm in the "getting close to" stage, of having a new plasma HDTV, as I have it ordered and I think I will get it around the first of next week.  It was only through the very kind help of a friend "in the business" that I can take my budget that was for about a 37" or 40" screen, and instead have been able to buy the Samsung 50" plasma.  I'm really looking forward to it, and have already upgraded my cable service to digital HD.

I'm going to do some work to a plain flat wall, so that the new screen is in a rather theatrical setting.  Here is a picture of the wall right now, before we make some modifications to it.......

I presumed he and Skip were doing the work themselves, but I might be incorrect to have done so.

I see that EDISAURUS is logged on. Hello! I hope you have a good sick day (NOT an oxymoron!) and feel better soon. Can we assume that you didn't suffer any due to the tornados?

Thank you Jeanne & all---I think it's just a 48 hour bug. I have plans for most of the day tomorrow with friends. We're going to take a little road trip but if I feel this way tomorrow I will have to cancel.

This is the first day I been home during all the construction on the acres behind my house. Apparently they have been shredding trees for days and the earthmoving equipment is shaking the house. I might have been better off at work!

And no tornado damage here, thank goodness. My house is surrounded by very large oaks, so I'm always wary when tornadoes are forecast. Sometimes if it looks really bad we pack up the cats and head to the nearest parking deck!

Oh, speaking of auras, DR JRAND, I've seen Kirlian photographs before, but what can you tell from them? I assume different colors mean different things. What do they tell you?

Sorry, this will have to be brief, as I'm supposed to be finishing my lunch hour.

Let's see..

Born to impoverished parents in a remote village, and finding himself in desperate circumstances, nevertheless SINGDAW was able to pull himself up by his bootstraps and...

Aw, heck - I'm going to have to leave this for another post.

Thank you all for your gracious hospitality!

I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but I'm a big Stephen Flaherty (and Lynn Ahrens too) fan so I'm looking forward to the score.

Welcome to the crazy crew!

I'm back from shipping (including a nice Dress Circle order - now if they'll only pay in a timely fashion, like bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt).  Also did a few other errands.  I've smoothed out what I wrote yesterday, shall now type up edisaurus' few notes, and then begin writing the new stuff.
