DR Tomovoz...

I had no idea...

I'm sorry; didn't mean to make light of something so serious.  :(

Sorry David - it is a very old joke!  (pleurisy is more allied to pneumonia than anything else I guess.  No lasting effect though).

Thank you Dear BK, Tomovoz, George and Singdaw for the wonderful birthday wishes!  I won't being going to work today because I have to have a meeting with the social worker to decide what they are going to do with Mom now that she is stable.

I think this is just as scary if not more so then when I thought I was going to lose her.  I hate the thoughts of her in a home.  I know they won't let me stay with her like they do here and I worry that she might get thristy or something and it will take forever for someone to come and give her a drink.

Not to say anything bad about Hospice but there is someone across the hall that screemed out a few fimes yesterday, "Nurse!, Nurse!" and then later hollared, "I'm thristy, for God's sake please give me a drink!".   I wanted to go in and give her one but I wasn't sure I'd be allowed.

Then I think, "What if that had been Mom?".

Now I'm also worried about the money end of all of this.  I'm scared I'll lose the house.  I don't think they can do much because I have the power of attorney and I'm not about to sign anything I don't go over with a a fine tooth comb.  In fact, I may even try to take anything they want signed and go see an attorney to make sure what they say is what I'm sigining.

I'm up because I just couldn't sleep last night for thinking about everything.  Sigh.

DR Elmore, I hope that you are feeling much better.

DR Jane, I hope that everything is going ok for you and your son in Pittsburgh.  I guess I won't be going there any time soon.  :)

Hi DR Tomovoz!  Have you had any of your bird friends over for lunch lately?

I have a sack of corn and bird seed in the back of my car that I was going to set out for our local furry and feathered friends before this all happened. I haven't had the chance to do anything with it.

Both Bear and Sheena paid Mom a visit yesterday.  I had to go home early because I put them in the house for the night.  We had some really bad thunder storms in the area and I was afraid to leave them out side.

I then took them to the dog park for about an hours.  Poor babies needed a good run.  Then because Sheena was pretty tired out, I decided to take her to see Mom.

They were both very good dogs but after a quick nap on the floor of Mom's room, Sheena got her second wind and started to get really fussy.  I had to take them both home and leave them inside again because of another evening of bad weather.  I know they were scared but at least they weren't outside.

Mom really enjoyed seeing them both.

Something that suprised me was how protective Sheena was.  When someone came in the room, she jumped up and either barked or growled at whoever the person was until they sat down on the couch and let her smell them.

I guess she really has accepted us as her family.  It's hard to believe it's almost a year since I first got her already.  Time really does fly.

Bear was very mellow and just laid down like he owned the place.  Everyone loved the two of them.

They were such good dogs and didn't do a thing in the house.

I'll have to swing by and let them out this morning.

I read what you said yesterday,  Trust me when I say I understand what you are going through.

Hang in there, we're going to make it.  There's always a light at the end of the tunnel.*

No problem.

It's fall down your way now, isn't it?

That just seems so odd to think about.  I'm sure it seems strange to you to think we're going into spring.

"Fall" here indeed DR Danise.  But the word is not used in Oz.  It is "Autumn "to us.  Many of our gardens have exotic deciduous trees but this really is a land of the Evergreen.

And the word of the day is: DYSCALCULIA!
The Count, on Sesame Street, appears to suffer from  DYSCALCULIA - he's great at counting, but never gets around to doing actual math problems.

"Exotoc deciduous trees"?

Are these leafy tall thingies that have poisonous outsides?

That's a nice looking plant.

I lost my Michael Crawford Rose.  The winter was just to cold for it even though I covered it during the freezes we had.

The plant is a hybrid Waratah (in our garden). It's common name is "Shady Lady".

DR Danise -

I know it doesn't help any, feeling so completely overwhelmed, but...  Listen to the professionals.  They've seen all this before, and they'll have helpful suggestions on options and navigating the system.

I know you can't help but worry, but until you have a sense of what the choices and options really ARE, there's not a lot you can do.

{{Hugs}} and prayers to you!!
