I am back. I spent much of the morning reconfiguring my computer at work. It was acting wonky before I left so IT decided to reinstall Windows. It seems to have fixed things but I needed to re-personalize my desktop, etc.

I haven't caught up AT ALL. I have much work here on my desk and also at this here site.

I do know that I missed Francois' birthday. Happy Day to the French Man.

Vibes to Danise. I don't know what they are for since I'm not caught up but it seems as if she needs them.

Later, gaters.

P.S. We had a wonderful time.

Welcome home, Ben.

Danise's mother passed away.  She will be flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow to make final funeral arrangements.

I've been up since six-thirty.  What I have learned this morning - it is now nigh unto impossible to do the simplest things via AOL - I was invited to join a yahoo group.  I tried to create a yahoo account - impossible via AOL, easy via Safari.

I'd better get going.  It's going to be a long day at work, and I need donuts.

Just two, that'll do me fine.

LOL Woody, I went down the hall and got a glazed doughnut then sat to read the notes and this is the first one I read!

But before I go, observations/questions:  Might I have reached an age (47) where having caffeinated Diet coke at night is bad for me?

And why is it impossible to order a decaf Diet Coke at a place which requires a two-drink minimum?  (At $5 a glass, shouldn't they be able to take the caffeine out?)

Still, the show was well worth it.  But maybe, in the future, i'll have ginger ale as my drink minimum.  :)

Then the sugar will keep you awake  ;)

I have the two HBO shows and also THE TUDORS to select from today for viewing.

I also have THE BLACK ROSE selected from the Tyrone Power box, but it's two hours long and I may not get to it until this evening before prime time starts.

I watched part of it on the web last night. Gavin Lee was very funny as he RAN down the aisle to get his award.

Of course, there are season finales for me tonight for '24,' HEROES, and LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. Looking forward to the first two. Won't get to L&O:CI until tomorrow.

DR Jennifer is correct about the preemption of tomorrow night's BOSTON LEGAL season finale. It is getting bumped by the DANCING WITH THE STARS two hour show, so it'll be shown next week.

Of course, VERONICA MARS has her last two hours tomorrow night, and I plan to be watching "live."

Tonight I'm going to my first meeting as a member of the Sioux City Film Institute.  It sounds more impressive than it is, but it's the group that decides what films to show at the Orpheum and is responsibile for our Film Festival of short films and our silent film festival.  I'm looking forward to getting involved with all of it.

I'm a little surprised about Gavin Lee's win for MARY POPPINS. Not that he didn't get great reviews, but the word seemed to be it was a two man race between David Hyde Pierce and Raul Esparza. Should make for a very interesting Tony show.

The categories are slightly different.  Debra Monk won for Featured Actress but she is nominated for a Tony as Leading Actress. I think for the Tonys it has to do with whether you get top billing or not, but I'm not sure about that

TOD:

I like take a roast and slow cooking it with carrots and potatoes...

I also like to take a small steak, marinating it in Italian dressing and the placing it on the grill...

For chicken, I like making pot pie and I have a very easy recipe for it.

Good morning dear Esteemed, wise, ravaged-by-AOL, Safaried, and pecs-of-man-meat BK --

I personally happen to think that AOL is a very large, very bloated, and by now very unneeded corporation...... and one of the most intrusive and troublesome of all of the ISPs around.  It started out when a lot of people were very intimidated by the "nuts & bolts" of navigating around the web, or opening an email.

I actually have a good friend in Pasadena, who was amazed at how I could log on at his house, check my personal email from his computer (using a "webmail" feature that Cox.net has), and surf the web just by opening Internet Explorer.... All of which don't cost me anything above just my basic Cox cable service.  He actually thought that he couldn't access the web without going through his "AOL entry point."
