The soundtrack of Wait Until Dark reminds me of the opening sequence that takes place in Montreal. I used to live about a 10 minute walk from the place and the house still exits. The airport has now been remolded and no longer looks like it did in the film

Wonderful to see all those positive Herringbone reviews.

TV Commercial celebrity spotting:

A new VW Eos commercial features J.P. Pitoc as the car's driver.  No lines, but it's a cool commercial.  His hair is short again...and he looks much as he did in "Trick."

Interesting...they are now building ethanol plant powered by methane gas....from cows. This isn't a joke!

Among other items, I got THE HISTORY BOYS on DVD in the mail today, so I will certainly be watching it at some point this weekend.

Cool evening air, so once again, the A/C is off, and the doors and windows are open to let in the cool. Sheer heaven!

I began my evening tonight with last week's STUDIO 60. Once again, they were jumping back and forth in time which made for a frazzled episode, but I did like the two major dramatic themes of the episode: the premature birth of the baby and the taking of Tom's brother as a hostage over in Iraq.

I think this story arc is resolved in tonight's episode, but the DVR caught it as I was watching other things.

Next, I watched NANCY DREW, TROUBLE SHOOTER. A better film than the previous one. Not much mystery (the bad guys are very obvious, just like in the Nancy Drew books).

What's NOT like the books is Nancy herself. Scatterbrained, jealous, a reckless driver: none of these things characterize the Nancy from the books.

TCM showed THEODORA GOES WILD tonight. I had never seen it all the way through, so I watched it tonight. It irritated me a lot at the first, but it got better later and was good entertainment.

I rewatched THE CLOSER one more time before erasing it off the DVR. Loved it, but I can't wait for a new one on Monday night.

I concluded the evening's viewing picking up where I left off with OKLAHOMA from the free On Demand TCM channel. I got through two more numbers: the brilliant "Kansas City" and "I Cain't Say No."

Much much earlier today I ate a chicken salad sandwich and a salad.  Since then, I've only eaten a few chips - so, I'm thinking about a filet o' fish, which I haven't had in ages.  I've finished two more episodes of The Sopranos, and will definitely watch at least one more.  They're very addictive.  In the episode I just watched was the talked-about scene of dear departed Vito's troubled son, and the bit of business he does in the school shower room when taunted by his fellow jerk schoolchums.

My eyelids are feeling very heavy tonight, so I'm going to head down now for bed.

Good night!

Well, I believe the run I took this afternoon... and the two glasses of wine - Cabernet Sauvignon (Merci, DR François - although, I guess I'm so used to hearing it abbreviated "Cab-Sav") I had with dinner have caught up with me, so...

Goodnight.

I just came back from a Summer Solstice party at the LA County Museum of Art. There was live music, some of the exibits were open, and food and drinks.  It continues until 3am, but I am warm at home.

Great bird pics, Tomovoz.

Great cover, BK. I like it a lot.

Crappy news, Elmore. I was hoping for good news.

I am tired. Long board meeting. And too much small pring.

My recurring dream theme: I would be in an underground  mausoleum, and they close the door and I can't get out.
