So Barnum made it to the reservoir and lived to tell the tale (although we haven't yet heard from him, hmmm)

I'm flying to Minneapolis tonight.  My DH and I are giving a fund-raiser cabaret concert on Friday in his hometown to raise money for their local arts center to purchase a Steinway grand.

Weather Underground

No, not that one from the 60s and 70s. This phrase takes on a new meaning.

Throw your hat on Mary's corner for me.

The first time Ant and I went to Minneapolis he went down to the corner of 7th Street and the Nicollet Mall and  threw his hat in the air just like MTM. Unfortunately that corner has changed. Dayton's no longer exists. Oh, well. Life goes on.

We also drove over to Mary's first house, not the second one which was an apartment complet just a couple of blocks from the West Bank of the U of M campus. The first one where Rhoda lived on the top floor and Mary had the amazing studio. It was hard to recognize because they had painted it and the trees had grown so much that they hid many of the features of the house.

Wow!  Twenty-three pages last night and there wasn't even an awards show!  A whole slew of subject matter--return of DRs (welcome back Noel and Jason!) and the first appearance of a new one (welcome to brand-spanking new DR 3DDiffusion!)  Birth (Congrats to Great Aunt DR Cillaliz!) and death (so sad about DD (Dear Diva Beverly Sills.)

My iPod is acting up this morning--it refuses to link up with iTunes and keeps clicking and pretty much locks up my PC.  The usual remedy for this is give it a good hard smack down on a hard surface (this is actually what is recommended on a number of iPod help sites), but it doesn't seem to doing the job today.  I guess Apple has sent out the self-destruct signal to the older models.

Thematically speaking, it's quite probably a great score; Leslie Bisquick's lyrics are sometimes insufferable.  "Cat and Mouse" is one of my favorite Mancini compositions.

The hair featured in THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X at THE ACORN was first modeled by Miss Allison Hayes in publicity pictures for the Allied Artists release THE HYPNOTIC EYE (1960).

I ended up with a bad cold from rehearsal last night.

I am not pleased with the first evening's results, but that's okay.  You cannot direct a musical sitting down.  And if you are going to use the prompt book for your blocking, make sure that your script is the same as the one we have, and be MORE prepared....or even a little prepared.

Hopefully tonight will be better.

Yes DR RODZINSKI.....rock rock rock.

Good morning!

The cool continues unabated, and I'm loving it. I'm sure it will heat up enough today that I'll have to close the doors and windows and turn the A/C back on, but for now, I'm blissful.

I have that Allison Janney film to watch this afternoon, but the rest of the day looks free for movies and/or TV that are stacked in piles. I might pick TROG for a film. I may begin the first season of VERONICA MARS for TV.

I do have Kathy Griffin's MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST on tonight, but I've enjoyed speeding through the many, many commercials that Bravo airs, so I probably won't watch it until tomorrow.

I still have the final episode of STUDIO 60 that I haven't gotten to.

I see that I recorded BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS off the Fox Movie Channel. I didn't buy the DVD set when it came out, so I may watch this again just to remind myself how truly awful it is. (I know several folks here are big fans of the movie. Please don't take offense.)
