I was somewhat disappointed A THOUSAND SPENDID SUNS was not as beautifully, poetically written as THE KITE RUNNER, but then to me few books are. Nor was the story as heart wrenching, which some might consider a good thing. Both books capture the plight of the Afghanistan people, told with completely different stories.
It isn’t fair to expect brilliance every time. So, on its own merits I found the book riveting, obviously since I didn’t put it down until six this morning.
Ginny, it would make a good discussion book.
