DR Jose, they forgot our neighborhood's main street: Peachtree Hills Avenue!

Curiously, most of the streets in the Peachtree Hills neighborhood are names after places in Virginia. Our house in the 2nd oldest, over 100 years old, and our street is named Virginia Place. I am proud to live in a neighborhood with "Peach" in the name!

Unfortunately, there are so many carpetbaggers down here that Atlanta has lost its regionality but many of the statements still apply in the outer burbs...

Well, I need to get out for a bit and walk around.  There's supposedly a new Senegalese pastry shop that opened up a couple blocks from here.  Well, more than a couple of block, but it should be worth the walk.  :)

While at Trader Joe's earlier I noticed they now have frozen macaroni and cheese under their own label. I haven't seen it there before, but all the TJ's stuff I've tried is at least better than average.

And the word of the day is: CHAFFER!
It took the CHEF FAR too long to CHAFFER over the sterling silver chafing dish, so it was sold to someone else instead.

Der Brucer is with us - taking a break from looking at recipe books in which he hopes to find a suitable meal to prepare for the birthday of SWOODY next week.
Oh no, no no no!  My cooking for him can be a treat, but his for me....

 :P

I shall insist that he take me out to dine.

Been a pretty miserable day all around today. First it's hot as blazes, and after lunch, the food didn't set particularly well in my stomach (must have not offered it a comfy chair), so that's been a little distressing this afternoon.

On top of it, as I was watching many of the special features on '300,' the HDMI connection started going crazy. At first I thought it might be my Blu-ray player rebelling, but that wasn't it. None of my HDMI devices would work. Kept getting static and stuff cutting in or out.

Now, that's not so serious with regular DVDs and HDTV/cable TV. I can just use the component connections or the over-the-air broadcast channels.

But I HAVE to have the HDMI connection for the Blu-ray; it's the only high definition connection.

Seems like it did this once before, and I just cut off the TV and when I went back later and turned it back on, everything was OK. I hope that's the case. It would be a shame to be so close to the end of the '300 special features and not be able to finish them.

Of the features I watched today for the first time, I really enjoyed the featurettes on the art direction/design for the film and also the costume designing. The costumes were a lot more complicated than some helmets, leather thongs, and sandals. Really interesting stuff, and I'd like to have seen more about it. The feature ran about 4 minutes, and I would have liked half an hour on just the clothes.

Color me quite happy...LOVE AMERICAN STYLE is coming to DVD soon...season one will be released in November!

I love this show!!

I wonder if ROOM 222 could be in the works some day???

I loved Room 222.  I had the piano music to the theme, memorized it and drove the family crazy playing it over and over....sort of the way I did with Barry Manilow's "Mandy" a few years later and "Magic to Do" after that.

I also sped through today's episode of AS THE WORLD TURNS. A few months ago, they introduced a gay character to the show, and today he was going to have his first moment of connection with the guy he's harboring a crush on as they're swimming in the lake together.

Frankly, I don't find either of the two guys all that physically appealing, but it's so rare to have gay characters on these soaps for any length of time that I'll continue to have the DVR record the show and see how the plot develops.

Cason says Bukowsical is a must see (even though you won't get to see him in the part he was supposed to do on Saturday cause the actor decided not to be in his sister's wedding --

If I were the guys sister, unless she makes a habit of getting married, I'd be very unhappy with my brother.

Apparently there was a power outage here in coastal DelMarVa last night.  Power went down in Dewey Beach about five thirty in the evening.  Rehoboth Beach proper went down after that, and the store was hit at about seven thirty.

Der B and I didn't have any problems, which is why I didn't know about this until I got to work today.

It was nice to have the tourists talking about something other than the weather.

As for the store, only the dairy aisle was really hit.  Talk about a pick and choose power outage.  Fortunately the dairy team was able to move everything into their big refrigerated room in the back, so nothing went bad.

Getting everything back on the shelves this morning was a major operation for them, but the dairy aisle looked great when they were finished, even better than a few weeks ago when a special team came in and did a "restack" of the aisle.

Vixmom-Thank you.  Keith hasn’t seen Craig in 14 months.  I’m so lucky it has only been three months for me.  Craig & his girlfriend will only be here two days.  Bryan will stay longer, how much longer we don’t know.  He is bringing his Sugar Gliders so he doesn’t have a time restraint.

Ginny,  all my ovens since then have been in the wall.  The built in ovens aren’t usually as large as a standing oven which took a bit of getting use to.  In most of our homes we had two ovens.  This house came with only one oven & a microwave.  When we remodeled we switched the microwave to a combination microwave/convection oven & added a warming drawer.  I really like the drawer when we have company.

Dakota, I hope they find a better way to relieve your father’s bloating.  Continued vibes & good thoughts to you and your family.

JRand, congrats on making the front page.

Bruce-continued vibes the actress accepts & all is settled shortly.
