Thanks for your photos, DR Cillaliz!

I'll be getting into Grand Central around 3:00 PM EST, but am not going to any matinees today.  Sounds like most of the other DRs in town will be otherwise engaged until supper time.

DR JoseSPiano - not that you would need one, but I think I have an extra ticket for tonight.

He is amazing.

Do mean hospice is going to his home or he is living at a hospice house?

Last night, I went to see a local production of Agatha Christie's THE HOLLOW.  Now, although I admire Agatha Christie, the woman; I have never been a great fan of her mysteries.  As for the plays, I have always said that it was better to be IN a production of a Christie play, than have to sit through one.

I have never seen a production of THE HOLLOW, nor have I read it; but this play must have one of the longest and worst second acts, that I have ever seen.

I am good friends with the director, and I know most of the cast of extremely talented actors, but this second was just deadly - and I don't mean it in a good way.  I have seen gruel that had more action than the second act of this show.  The best thing I can say about this play is that I don't have to see it again.

Cool!  Well, I guess that takes care of that!  I will be attending the final Brain tonight.  Thanks, DR singdaw!

So... I think the best - because it's mine ;) - plan for this afternoon would be to meet at 3:30 in the plaza at Worldwide Plaza, which is between 8th and 9th Avenues, between 49th and 50th.  -It's the "outdoor lobby" for New World Stages.  There's lots of outdoor seating, plenty of room for gathering. *And it's just three blocks away from where Such Good Friends is playing.

I'll make the requisite phone calls.  Be there, or be without Levain Cookies.  ;)

Penny & François, from what I’ve read, it seems Audrey had every reason not to be happy about the dubbing in MY FAIR LADY.  She was told she would be doing the singing and worked very hard to prepare for the role.  I don’t blame them for dubbing her, but it wasn’t right to lie to her.

Jennifer, (Penny too) are you sleeping with your pillows elevated?  It should help with the sinuses.  When my ears hurt like that I make oatmeal and stand over the steaming pot while it cooks, letting the steam go into one ear and then the other.  It sounds funny but it helps & the oatmeal is soothing to eat.

Well, the rehearsal at 10 went really really well; Paul Gemignani was in a good mood - I think he's happy with the piece - and had a good time with the Orchestra of St Luke's.  The dress is tomorrow afternoon at the Plaza, and the performance tomorrow night; I expect a huge crowd.

After that, I had a good time at Toyland, trying to decipher why our faxmachine was down and trying to identify songs in two medleys performed by Montgomery and Stone around 1912.  I am home now, in need of a nap before I decide if I will write cards to the cast tonight and possibly take in gifts.  While I was out William Orr left me a message and so I need to return his call before I crash.

Might I just ask where in tarnation IS everyone?  Oh, yeah, they're either here in NY at brunch, mad at me, or off taking a break from the site.  Oh, well, ever onward.

Just back from a lovelier than lovely brunch with the usual suspects and the addition of der Brucer and his ever-lovin' S. Woody.

I'm thinking of taking a break from the site, now that everyone here who's gonna buy NYMF tickets for my show has bought them.

I'll be back in an hour.  I figure that should be enough of a break.

:)

To clarify, I'm only kidding!

Bruce:  Earlier this evening you posted:My post spoke for me.  You may, of course, consider it any way you choose.

I've considered it in the exact way you meant it :)  And I'm jiggy with it.

Very exciting news at Film Score Monthy - I've know this was coming for over a year, but it's finally here - the first ever CD release of two of my favorite 60s scores on one CD - Johnny Keating's fantastic score to Hotel, and Stanley Myers' equally fantastic score to Kaleidoscope.

We have tickets for Such good Friends today, but something came up.  But I'm happy to have contributed to the gross, since I know Noel told us about the cash flow issues.
