I began viewing my watching the rest of MY NAME IS EARL. I still had about 20 minutes to go. Very similar this week to RENO 911! except with a much larger production budget. Thoroughly enjoyable.

DR Cillaliz, i'm just catching up on yesterday's posts and just saw your question re: TAR.

Yes i said that i saw a commercial that touted this season as having no non-eliminations.  And that article from the producers also said the same thing.

My sister (like you) reacted when she heard phil say that there would be 8 eliminations (11 legs).

This is what i think he meant:

A non-elimination round is a round where you get to a pit stop and phil says that you are the last to arrive and you get a penalty, lose your clothes, money ...

There have been things (like the first hour of the last show) which are To Be Continued. This means you get to a pit stop and find out you are still racing.

So i believe there might be 2 of those plus the final show.

Next, I watched last night's CSI: MIAMI. A fairly rudimentary case about a model electrocuted during a fashion show. More intriguing was the set-up of Horatio's son for a fellow inmate's death in prison. Some fancy footwork was going on there to save his kid (this time).

I have DEXTER cued up to watch when I go back down. I'll also be watching THE AVIATOR on Blu-ray today. If there's time, I've dive into the special features, too, before prime time TV begins this evening.

Sandra & DR Laura you are both so funny.

I didn’t ask why, figuring Sandra would eventually tell her story. :)

I feel grateful that it went so well.  And a bit dazed so far today.  This last three months, starting at the end of July was the craziest I've had in years.

I hope Jrand's amazon review hasn't fallen through their all too frequent cracks.  And I hope he saved it on his computer, in case he has to post it again.  I'm looking forward to reading his and vixmom's comments.

Bruce,

Just wanted to tell you again how much Janet and I enjoyed the show last night.  Sorry we couldn't stay afterward, but I have to be in the office at 6:30AM so staying and mingling wasn't an option.

We also thought that the ensemble member who filled in for "I Wanna Be a Rockette" did a wonderful job.  We missed her name at the announcement because we weren't expecting it.  Who was that young lady?

Bruce,

I have heard from three Matt fans who attended the show. Two of them were very close to the front. They thought the show was fantastic and hats off for all the hard work!

Stephanie loved Beauty and the Beast and was singing along. Both her and Susie were surprised to here Pink Fish and they did not realize that it was a Schwartz and Menken piece.

They summed the evening up in one word

AWESOME!!!

DR MBARNUM and DR GEORGE:

re: your questions about DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES not TIVOing or DVRing.

I wonder if your system works the same as mine. When you selected the show to record every week. Did you select "same time, same day". Because on my system if you do that then it will only record if it is from 9pm to 10Pm. This week they changed it to end at 10:01pm.  So on my system you have to select (record at all times, all days) for it to work.

Also on my system there is a way to double check if it will record (you go to the program menu and see if it is lit up in red).

My DVR has recorded shows that go a minute or more over the regular, when it's set up to record a show, so I don't think that that was the problem.  And I didn't look to see if it was specifically marked to record the shows, because it has recorded every other episode without any trouble. :-\ My DVR shows that next week's episodes are marked to be recorded.

Maybe when i explain that my first act would be to slash all peripheral programs not directly related to the stated mission, and the second would be to take some fairly drastic economic measures - they'll just decide I'm not their guy...

Or they'll realize that you're EXACTLY who they need!!

Busy, busy, busy (that's 3 busies, count 'em, 3) morning here in the office.

Too busy...and frustrating.  Very, very, very (that's 3 veries, count 'em, 3) frustrating to have to "wait, wait, wait" (ditto) for someone else to provide information while you sit spinning your wheels getting nowhere until some final piece can be fitted into a puzzle.

Sigh.

I enjoyed "Chuck" last night.  I'm afraid I can't recall too much about "Heroes" as I was nodding off throughout the show.  Just tuckered, I guess.  I went to bed at 10 p.m.  Had to record "Journeyman" and WISH I had also recorded "Heroes"  (which I remember "some" of...but I probably missed the last 20 minutes).
