Enough celebrating - time to go clean some bathrooms busily, dust the furniture quickly, and vacumn all the dust bunnies away just in time for Boo-Key and a mother-in-law to arrive one day earlier than expected ... YIKES!!

So, who else is going to follow "Clash of the Choirs" this week?  The Cincinnati media are covering Nick Lachey's choir heavily.

Good Evening!

DONE!

With my Christmas shopping that is!  :)

Of course, I say that now, but at least I'm done with the "must buy for" list.  The MoMA store turned out to be quite the treasure trove of potential Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephew.  I just kept picking up this $5.00 thing, then an $8.00 that, and then a $12.00 whatchamacallit, etc., etc., etc.  And once I'm down in Virginia, I'll divvy them up accordingly.  I even came across the perfect ;) gift for my Mom.  I also investigated the line of MUJI office accessories, and I'll most likely pick up a few of those items for myself after the holidays.

DR Miss Karen - Congrats on getting your Fifth and Final Paper turned in for the semester!

-And I'm guessing you switched over to the pine-scented homegrown and organic stuff?  ;D

Yes -- and with a hint of cinnamon... 8)

I'm very curious about this show.  It's either one of those things that will be simply brilliant - and heartfelt - or it could easily turn into a group version of "American Idol".  I'll be DVRing tonight's episode, and just take it from there.

For a day in which I had little to do, I sure haven't stopped doing.  Just back from enduring the hideous lines at the post office, but got the five packages shipped, and I hope that will be it, at least until after Christmas.

Pine and cinnamon?

I don't even think that Yankee Candle makes that scent.  ;)

I'm listening to a Vince Mendoza CD - it's pretty terrific - it's his charts and a sax player and is gorgeous, like the one he did with Stefano di Battista.

The Mendoza thing is heartening, because between the Battista and then this arriving today, I'd played another Mendoza CD that I didn't like at all, but it was a very specific sort of concept (Flamenco/Latin), with lots of hand-clapping, and it just wasn't for me.  But this one today, which is called Symphonic is spectacular.

The halibut was yummy and Gelson's DID have the cheesy potatoes, so I ate quite a lot of those, too.

Yes, but neither of them likes to have tradition messed with.  You should have heard the reaction the year I suggested pork roast for Christmas dinner.

What is the tradional Christmas meal?

At least in the NY Metro area, PBS is airing Weill's Mahagonny with Patti and Audra tonight.

I've asked my niece to record it on their high-def DVR, so that I can watch it on their high-def TV. :D
