Yes, I remember those covers of PETER GUNN and MR. LUCKY for the RCA Victor Record Club. They weren't offered for the Columbia Record Club that I was a member of. I liked Columbia's Broadway cast album selection better which is why I joined that club rather than RCA's version.
Later I joined a record club that didn't use monthly cards to return or automatic selection. Instead of a little magazine each month with selections, we had the entire Schwann catalog as our book of choice. On top of all that, the LPs were discounted and shipping was far less than with Columbia or RCA. True, you didn't get a bunch of free LPs for joining, but there was no membership period. Once you joined, you were always a member. I can't tell you how many hundreds of dollars I spent with that club, and I can't even remember the name of it now.
Anybody know what I'm talking about?
