The PBS Camelot isn't cast yet - but it's being directed by Lonny Price, and I don't care for his work so I don't hold out much hope for it.

At the end of the list for the ADDITIONAL REPAIRS that my car "needed" since the warranty ended in February, was Right Brake Light out.

My mechanic never mentioned this on the telephone when he called me or I most certainly would have said "Yes" to fixing it.

I noticed it when they drove my car out to me yesterday morning.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.   Went to AutoZone and bought a bulb and the young man working there said (when asked) that yes he would replace it for me....  $4.29 total.  Probably much less than would have been added to my bill at Westgate Chrysler Jeep.

The problem turned out to be a broken band in a front tire, I got two new tires on the front with balancing - $157.28

The no news has apparently been because my e-mails of the last two days have not reached their destination - odd, because it's a professional office e-mail where they're being sent.  I finally had an e-mail asking for some details this morning - I've replied twice - and both e-mails didn't reach the person, but two others (without the details) did.  I just resent again, as requested, and asked for confirmation of receipt.  If I don't have that in ten minutes I'll give a call.

We watched it, DR JRand, and will continue.  I missed a chunk in the middle, due to a phone call, but DH Richard filled me in.  Love the time-slip aspect and the NYC setting, both current and historical.

Hi Ginny.  My book group is reading the delightful GARLIC & SAPPHIRES by the New York food critic Ruth Reichl.

Have you read it?

Sent the e-mail from my gmail address - that one got through and had a response.  I still don't know if it's a go, but it's looking like it could be.  Excellent vibes and xylophones to the max, baby.

Subtle advertising copy for A RAGE TO LIVE:

Take it easy, Grace...! Think of a good lie to tell your husband. Tell him you're late because the car broke down...tell him anything! Even make love to him...after all, you need him more than other men!

The story of Grace Caldwell Tate really began in the back seat of a car... ...and went from man...to man...to man...

Charlie, Sidney, Roger... The names and places didn't matter... only 'when'

YAHTZEE according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahtzee.

I've never played Yahtzee.

Not that one, DR Jane, but we read her earlier book Tender at the Bone.  One of our regulars started our discussion by accusing the author of having RUINED Gourmet magazine.

I hope DR SINGDAW's devotion to Project Cranberry doesn't preclude his seeing this masterpiece.

;D  I don't read Gourmet very often so I wouldn't know about that.  Garlic & Sapphires is more about her different disguises & personas she acquired to dine in the New York restaurants incognito.

John Smith is being featured in FURY AT SHOWDOWN this month on the Encore Western Channel....he is very good.  And he has a terrific fight with John Derek.

Nick Adams plays Derek's brother....it's a fun little B Western if you haven't seen it.  One of the best saloon fights I ever saw!

I have discovered we don't get the Encore Western Channel :(

JRand, I used to write cool copy like that for the posters for my 8mm films (my film company's was called Galaxy Productions! ) I made in JR High School...the most controversial being for my 1977 classic THE INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN...something along the lines of ....Watch as they invade Uranus!

It did not take my buddies very long to point out how badly that tag line read  :-\  much to my embarrassment.

They also were quick to point out that there was already a film titled INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN  >:(   >:(

Both of my library's copies of the audiobook are checked out, but I just put myself on the reserve list.

DRGinny, goddaughter Charlotte and I are crazy about Pete Hamill's FOREVER, the novel thay NEW AMASTERDAM seems to be plagiarizing.  It's wonderful and everyone who loves Jacdkj Finney's  great TIME AND AGAIN should read Hamill's book!

DR JRand57, as a lover of POCKETFUL OF MIRACLES, I can assure you that nothing in MISS PETTIGREW . . . reminded me of the Bette Davis film.
