Both special features were taken from the DVD release: a 9 minute featurette on the making of the film and a 21 minute feature on the history of the Spanish mustangs in this country. I had no idea that there was a governmental decree ordering their elimination just as with the buffalo, all intended to cripple Indian resistence to the settling of the West.

The Blu-ray of HIDALGO looked very nice, though with the sand and dust of the desert, there were some problems occasionally.

The uncompressed 5.1 sound was superb!

Next, I put in 16 BLOCKS and watched the first 80 minutes of it. I had not seen it since getting the new set, so I watched it upconverted, and it looked wonderful. There are Blu-ray and HD-DVD versions of it available, but it looked just fine to me upconverted, so I likely won't upgrade.

Quickly scanned through tonight's IDOL elimination. The person going home definitely deserved to be leaving. I had no regrets at all about that. The third lowest vote getter did NOT sit well with me.

LAW & ORDER had a scary case about Christian "warrior" camps which showed some very unsettling footage. I know it was staged for the show, but I'm sure these camps are up and running just like this one.

It's Ask BK Day and my question pertains to Kritzerland Records. . .

On the STROUSE, STROUSE and SCHWARTZ recording, Bob Cuccioli sound terrible! (singing "Morning Glow" from PIPPIN).  I have never heard him sound this way when I've seen him live on stage.
Was Cuccioli sick?  Was the song 'wrong' for him?  Was the arrangement wrong for him?  What was wrong?
Bonnie Franklin, on the same recording, sounds fabulous!  Who was her tap-dancing partner?
Penny Fuller brings of "One Halloween" tremendously.
Carole Cook is a force of nature, and I adore her lengthy, but, funny additions to her spot.  I realize that this was a recorded concert, but, how is Miss Cook to work with?  She seems to be the type of gal that I'd love to go out and have dinner with.

I only mixed the CD - I had nothing to do with the concert.  I think I wanted to remove Cuccioli's track but the powers that be seemed to think it was important.  I have no idea if he was sick.  I love Carole Cook.

Back from a good rehearsal.  I'm having fun with the cast and they're all coming up with fun stuff.  I'm exhausted - this sort of day really takes it out of me, I must say.  Not feeling real good about the "situation" but Que Sera Sera.

America has so much responsibility that it's just not fair that America should be responsible for picking the next supermodel as well.

Truer words have not been written in this forum all day, Fred Landau!

It's time somebody else stepped up....Myanmar, perhaps.

We turn back our clocks at the end of the month and gain an hour.  Good thing as I lost two hours last night!  We watched "The Black Dahlia". How can they have made so many mistakes in making a movie?
I think it was worse than "Snake Eyes".

Four minutes left to ask BK!

Question!

What Broadway musical is crying out to be made into a movie?

Tonight's Pay-What-You-Can performance of Side Show went quite well.  There weren't as many in the audience as I would've thought, but they were quite responsive.  They liked it!  We have performances Thursday and Friday nights, then two performances on Saturday because Sunday is Easter and I'm going to see Mamma Mia! :D

I've always thought with the right director and cast The Most Happy Fella would make a wonderful movie - for years I thought Coppola should direct it up in wine country.
