We had a funny "Mensa moment" this morning.  Gabe had been looking at his Mensa Book of Puzzles whilst eating his breakfast, and then set the book down on the counter by the stove.  About 30 seconds later he asked "Where's my Mensa book?"  I told him he probably wasn't quite ready for that august organization if he couldn't recall where he had set his own book down less than a minute previously.   ;D

Tumwater sounds like the name A.A. Milne would have given for Winnie the Pooh's favorite watering hole/spa!

It does!  However, according to Wikipedia:

Tumwater was founded next to the falls of the Deschutes River at the south end of Puget Sound as New Market in 1846 by a group of pioneers led by Michael Simmons, making it the first United States settlement on the Puget Sound as well as the first north of the Columbia river.

The name was changed to Tumwater borrowing from a Chinook Jargon phrase tumtum chuck meaning "waterfall" or "rapids" (literally "heartbeat water"). Tumwater was officially incorporated on November 12, 1875.

I'd also heard that Tumwater was short for "tumbling waters."

Just another pathetic attempt at humor.  Should I have said "running toward the Reservoir"?  :)

Just think how you would react if someone compared you to a Republican!

I'm glad somebody knows of a good place to eat in Cincinnati.  Der Brucer and I visited the city several years back, for a political gathering, and not once did we have a decent meal while we were there.  We even (somehow) managed to get a vastly inferior version of five-way chili.   :P

{{{{{{{{Elmore!!!}}}}}}}}

And I ended up trying a Spanish roast goat dish - talk about salty!!!

DR Jane, your talk about the drooling Sherlock reminded me of the last dog I ever had, a St. Bernard. When she would go out in the winter, she'd return with icicles dripping out of her mouth like stalagtites!

I suppose I was lucky, my family often ate at nice restaurants.  I can’t remember the FIRST time I said this is the best meal I’ve ever had.

Dinner out with my family often meant eating later than usual, sometimes past my normal bedtime.  The result was I would get a very bad stomach ache and not be able to eat at all.

My father began insisting I have a glass of milk and a snack at home before dressing for dinner.  Dressing is an appropriate word, men in suits & women in their party dresses.

;D No icicles on Sherlock today.  If we wanted a dog that drooled we would have gotten a St Bernard or a Newfoundland.  Nooooo, we opted for the smaller, dry mouth breed. ::)

I was in fact a Young Republican, and I have the autographed letter and picture from Richard M. Nixon to prove it.  :)

JMK, I usually wait for ebay or a dealer to contact me to provide feedback, since it's easy to just click on the link. Sorry I forgot---I never think to do it on my own.

... we missed most of the second half of BONES.

Our cable company runs both national local ads during the broadcast - tonight's local ad was for a Restaurant in Harrington called:

der Brucer

Harrington is the State Fairground renowned for it's racing  and acres of casinos.

Racing  - Music Man style - no stuck up Jockey sittin' on Dan Patch

Just go to your "my eBay" page and your won items will be there, and one of the options is "Leave feedback."  eBay will never contact you to leave feedback and few sellers will, either.  It's been my experience that sellers usually want the buyers to leave feedback first, as that indicates receipt of and satisfaction with the item.

That doesn't remotely scan Novello's "Keep the home fires Burning."

I didn't even know there was a Novello song!  I thought it was a reference to The Skin of Our Teeth.  I was just trying to rhyme.

Ah well!   :)

G.W. Bush's favorite movie.  Somewhat akin to Nixon and Patton.   ;)

I’m currently reading THE BOOK THIEF by Australian, Markus Zusak.  Has anyone read his books?  This is my first. I had a wee bit of trouble getting into the rhythm of the storytelling, now I’m looking forward to the remaining 300 pages of my journey.

To listen to an interview with Zusak Click Here and scroll down until you see his photo.

Lucky you.  I shouldn't complain.  It turned out to be a beautiful day here even if it was chilly.  I dressed warm.  We have another frost warning for tonight, no mention of snow-not that is was mentioned yesterday-lol.
