THOSE DARN LAKERS
« on: April 24, 2008, 12:14:38 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not too pithy, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're stuck in traffic because of the stupid Lakers game.

I have always found the concept of sports quite mystifying. Why should I care what a bunch of people I don't know do with a ball? They don't care about me. Am I supposed to care about them simply because they live relatively near where I live? That's insane. There's no story, there's no music...no reason at all to care. What difference does it all make?

Don't you sometimes wish that you could EXTIRPATE yourself from the traffic?

I think DR Joey's birthday is tomorrow [Friday 4/25], unless the HHW calendar is wrong.

Finished writing notes, which did indeed almost take an hour.

bk, you should operate like Mr. John Kander - have an assistant who follows you around everywhere, jotting down everything you say, and THEY can write up and distribute the notes!  :)

I do, and that's the way we did it last night, but I ended up rewriting them so much that it's just easier if I do them.

I'm stilll waiting for the day when you accidentally send the HHW "notes" out to your company of actors.  The following run-through of the show would be very arch and very outre, I would imagine.  ;)

TOD:

In middle school and high school, I was heavy into competitive swimming - meets every weekend, traveling all over the region, etc., etc.  Now?  I don't do squat.  :)

My favorite sports to watch on television now are diving, figure skating, and tennis.

I detest most professional sports [hockey, football, basketball, baseball] - don't understand 'em, and don't watch 'em.

Oh, and I don't bet on 'em, either.   :)

But I also realize that many sports fans detest musicals.

So I'm happy to live and let live.

I grew up watching Hockey and especially The Montreal Canadians who before the over expansion of the league were the best team. I remember the "original" six. Then the 12 and then way too many teams

They are singing "Spring, Spring Spring" from "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

I think most sports could be improved with some songs and perhaps a little tap dancing.

But I am a fan of a certain CD which was in the mail bin as I walked into 79 Fifth Avenue this morning!

Hoo and Ray my CD is here. I will listen to it as the morning goes along. The packaging is gorgeous. It came in perfect condition. The box was unmarked except for the address label and postage and the jewel case is not smashed.

I am happy!
